May Road Trip Booked

Post by FloridaPhil »

We made reservations today for our next Video Poker road trip in May.  We're flying into Denver and spending a couple of days in Black Hawk, then casino hopping down to through New Mexico and back.  The wife loves Black Hawk and would live there if we could.  Cripple Creek is a hoot, although the altitude gives me a headache.  Maybe we'll try some of the Colorado Wacky Tobacky when we' re there.

I hope you and your wife have a fantastic trip Phil, have you given any thought to possibly ducking into Arizona and checking out the action there? I can't remember if you have ever reported playing in Arizona. I'd like to check out Tucson area casinos myself sometime.

Phil, please let me know your experiences at the casinos in the Denver area. I have a niece that lives there, and will probably venture out there this summer to pay her a visit.

What a great trip you have to look forward to. It has been several years since we have been there and it seems we went there in May as well and the weather was ideal. There is so much to do in and around the area. Great place to hike. Like you said, the way Black Hawk and Cripple Creek are laid out is really unique. If you have time and have never done it before the Coors Brewery Tour at nearby Golden Colorado may be fun to do. And let us know if you try some of that Colorado Wacky Tobacky.

Blackhawk and Cripple Creek are our favorites.  The scenery is great and the odds aren't bad if you look around. We stay at the Ameristar in Blackhawk and in Colorado Springs when we go to Cripple Creek.  Coming from Florida, I can't imagine trying to sleep at 7,000 feet... There are a lot of small Casinos in New Mexico, even next to truck stops.  One place to check out is the Buffalo Thunder resort in Santa Fe.  It's a nice place and worth a visit.  Albuquerque is a good place for casino hopping also. On these road trips we don't care about the odds that much.  We enjoy the trip and I play mostly single coin the whole time.  Playing max coins for 10 days straight can be costly...

Have a great trip. And if you do, have one on me! Wonder how many points it is.
