Springtime in AC

I have been looking at my data from AC the last 4 plus years, month by month, looking for any more trends or patterns amidst the carnage and endless streaks of dud hands.....one thing has popped up:Springtime (i.e.  March, and ESPECIALLY April) has yielded by far the best results in terms of dollars won & lost amongst all the video poker games I have chosen to play, in all casinos in AC except for the Tropicana and the now defunct Atlantic CLUB.....this cannot be a coincidence.For Resorts, Trump (both casinos), and Caesars I actually am almost even for the month(s) of April for the years 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012......and last year, 2013, while I did lose it was the smallest loss of the entire year.anyone want to even begin to speculate on wtf this is indicative of.....?    I mean, under my comprehension of how AC video poker works its totally logical for the casinos to decide to set their machines to simply return the paytables implied percentages, instead of always "slotifying" them, and maybe they do this in Spring time to get everyone all excited and enthused for the big SUMMER push, when they make most of their money.....When I am in AC next week (April 12 thru at least April 21) I shall see what happens, in between the real n/l holdem poker tournaments I am registered for as a warm up for Vegas and the WSOP.Anyone else notice AC video poker is "nicer" in Springtime?

I have always found March to be very hot if you can call it that. At Mohegan, the new tier cycle starts April 1st so they like to let people play catchup. After the first few days in April however, back to abenormal ( young Frankenstein). Also right around one's birthday, people including myself, tend to hit Royals. This has been the case for at least the last 5 years. In my mind, we are all playing slottified slot poker. The only way I will be convinced otherwise is for these and other patterns to disappear.

nice reference to "Abby Normal".....young frankenstein is truly one of the funniest (without resorting to obscene material) movies ever made.I am heading out tomorrow and will be playing a lot of no limit holdem in AC over the next 10 days to 2 weeks as warm up to the WSOP in Vegas starting MAy 31.........I am still mulling which events to register for and play in the WSOP in Vegas, and may just wait and enter when I get there.....This is it for me, I am embarking (finally) on a serious Poker run, and any video poker I play will strictly be for kicks and relaxation and change of pace and to kill time between tourney events, so I will no longer be busting my ass to write down results and analyze, and all that sh*t.     While in AC, the only video poker I plan on playing are progressives that offer above and beyond 100% (they are there, you just need to be vigilant.)    But since I will be moving around a lot everyday, going from my rooms (which will predominantly be at the TAj and Resorts)  over to the Borgata, Harrahs and maybe Bally', I will not have too much time for LONG video poker sessions so my losses wont be extreme, even if I hit huge numbers of duds.    But you are right olds, until or unless the patterns truly change, VP is now just SLOTS by another name, with HALF the comp accumulation!Bally's totally revamped their poker room and it is actually REALLY nice, I am just skeptical they will be able to find the players to keep it full and active.   either they bring them in from elsewhere or they will be poaching them from Borgata (and maybe even their own sister properties Harrahs and Caesars.)      I also predict Showboats poker room is about to dry up and blow away completely, the same way Trump Taj Mahals poker room has evaporated.    HArd to believe Trump Taj was once the center of the poker universe east of the Mississippi (until Foxwoods, and then Borgata killed them)!    When th emovie Rounders debuted, if the big players were not playing at the Mirage in Vegas, they were at Trump Taj.....now, the Taj  poker room has one or two tables playing limit holdem every day, maybe one table playing $1-2 N/L holdem.....and ZERO toruney or sit n go events.     Truly a sad turn of events

Best of luck on the trip. Never missed the film being in black and white only either. So many funny scenes in that movie. One of my favorites when they dished out the hot soup into the monster's lap and on and on. Or how about " what knockers "...reply..." Oh thank you Dr."

Frau Blucher!!!       Neeeighhh!"put the candle back....""Quiet Dignity and Grace""Puttin' on the ritz"MArty Feldman (RIP)  was a comic genius, blessed with that face that was so hideously funny all he had to do was open his mouth and say ANYTHING and it was comedy gold.....Wow, this video poker forum sure is in the tank if you and I are talking about comedy films!!!!    I think this is indicative of the state of Video Poker in general!
