I'm going to give it a try Phil tonight late PM and AM tomorrow Phil. I will start with the 95% nickel game and if it at least seems feasable and the losses aren't too high after 3 or 4 hours I will switch to quarters. The best I can get at Mohegan for quarters is 15/9/4/4/ which is nearly 99% long term so I figue if it is going to work, it should work pretty well on that pay schedule. The other option I have, although I'm not sure if I will do it yet because it is cumbersone is switch back and forth on a nickel and quarter machine. In the middle of the night, I have no trouble doing this and the machines are right next to each other. That way I can start the nickel game with 5 nickels in and if I hit the Royal, I will at least get 200- instead of 62.50. The nickel game has no option to change denomination like the quarter game does. If I decide to do this that way, I will have to cash out every time I hit 4 or better, put the ticket into the quarter machine and if no hit, cash out again and back to the nickel machine. Lots of ups and downs and may not be that enjoyable. Probably best not to worry about the Royal and with my track record of 1 every 175,000 hands since Jan 1 2013, it shouldn't matter. At any rate, I am looking forward to giving a try and will report back. Win or lose, drinks and food on me Phil when you get up this way. A room comp too if I can arrange it. Take care. Hope I will have some decent results to report back.

Back from the trip Phil, and although I only made 8 bucks, at least I didn't burn through 500-800 which would be the norm on a bad day playing 9/6 job with few if any quads and of course no Royals.
The funny thing and I know this is a very short temm study and result is the junky 95% nickel game was hot. So hot, I switched it to Bonus Deuces Wild and caught some more wild royals, and the good kind of 5 of a kinds. Following your method when I went from 5 nickels to 25 after hitting 4 of a kind, I caught 4 Deuces. No Royals of course nor did I expect any. At that point I should have quit because I was up 200-. Here is where the gambler thinking comes in. I figured if it worked fine on the crappy paytable game, I could of course sit down next door on the 15/9/4/4 quarter game and do even better. My mistake. . What happened was when I progresses to 5 quarters from 1, every time and I mean every time I caught a dud. However, 80 percent of the time or so, the next hand when I dropped back to one coin, I hit a winner. That got to be pretty frustrating, but hey, even or better in any gambling is a very good day. Take care. Olds...

Thanks for the info Bob on the show. Will try and catch it.

ke I am sure that he and his wife will enjoy LOVE. It would seem, then, that at least some of his play is at MGM properties.

I doubt very much if he plays at all at MGM properties while in Vegas. He's a quarter player and MGM doesn't provide positive opportunities for such players.Bob

myVEGAS? How else is he getting LOVE tickets?

I've seen LOVE, Ka, and Zarkana for free thanks to myVEGAS, plus free rooms. Haven't spent a dime on the game. Just lots of time...but I earn comps playing the facebook game faster than I would in the casino...

MGM probably sees about $100 coin-in from me per trip. If it wasn't for myVEGAS, I wouldn't have made 3 trips from 2013 til now. Probably one, tops. My g/f still have enough points to cover a lot of our rooms and probably another pair of show tickets.

I'll have to remember to listen in and see what he says. Quarters is as high as I'll usually go.

Thanks for the feedback.  As you can see, it makes playing single coin fun.   I use this strategy mostly when I'm paranoid about losing money (often).  One example was the 10 day Video Poker trip we just went on.  I was up about $5K before we left and I didn't want to give any of it back.  With 50,000 hands to play, I could have had a really big loss if I played max coins the whole time and things went bad. As it turned out, I played at least 6 hours a day for 10 days straight with the cheap video poker strategy and came back up about $500.  I usually start out with max coins, then switch to this strategy before I dig a deep hole in my bankroll.  I actually have more confidence in the cheap strategy than I do with max coins, but the 4,000 coin Royal thing is hard to argue with.  Anyway, it gives me something to do when I'm in one of those famous video poker money holes.
