DaBurglar, it's difficult to give an analysis of AC because I don't frequent it. I hadn't been in two years. Stayed and played at Bally's a couple of times and did quite well. Host left and I never developed a relationship with a new one. This trip was quickly planned as my husband's brother passed away and we had to get north. His family is about 40 minutes from AC.

The $2 and $5 Game Kings I played had 9/6 tdb. Maybe they were 9/5. The "experts" would frown that I don't pay more attention to pay tables and returns, but I play for fun and the big hit. The $10 machines did not have tdb so I played ddb. We only played at Caesars because of the convenience and our time constraints.

From what I saw of the beach, the boardwalk and the casino, it was not busy. However, this was during the week and just after a big holiday. It stands to reason that with competition outside of AC (Phila and other nearby casinos), the customers are going elsewhere. One issue that had me shaking my head was no room service Sunday - Thursday after 1:00pm. really? If AC wants to retain and attract players, the hotels have got to make it attractive, duh. Hope this sheds some light for you DaBurglar. Next time, I'll keep a journal so I can make a more informed report.

DaBurglar you've been going to Atlantic City once a month, every month, since 2009? I don't buy it.

Buffilita you made another great point, about the room service.....there have been so many "cutbacks" to AC in so many areas that this too has driven people away and kept them away.  When you slash the service, people do what the poster loveplusone said. "the hell with AC, I'm not going anymore."And your observation about the crowds is spot on too...this is summer, their primetime...and they cannot even maintain a healthy crowd....it used to be EVEN weekdays AC sold out in summertime.   Not anymore.....EVERYTHING the Casino Development authority did, and everything Chris Christie authorized has not only not helped, its made it worse.   Oh well.......From now on, I will be going to Borgata to play poker and not concern myself with the remnants on the boardwalk too much.  I am going to give the Mohegan sun and foxwoods a chance again, and I will be going to Vegas in October.  and if that works out well for me physically, I will plan more trips to Vegas after that.Good luck to you and wherever you decide to play.
