Rocky Gap Casino & Resort, Maryland

Anyone ever visit this casino?  If so, do they have any video poker machines.  Their website states that they have over 550 machines but does not say if they have any video poker.

Contacted the resort to find out if they have any video poker machines.  I'm impressed, the Director of Gaming Operations responded, informing me that they have a total of 558 slot machines and 40 of them are video poker. The website for the resort is impressive and it looks like it would be a great place to stay.  I won't be able to make it there by the the end of the month but they're running a great promotion:Stay & Play
Sunday - Thursday through February 28th!
$99.00 gets you a room and $99.00 in Free Play.
(Room taxes and   State Park fee not included). Maximum night stay
consecutively is 2.  Free play awarded to one club member per room.
Rewards Club Membership required. For reservations please call
1-800-724-0828 or book your room here and use promo code STAYPLAY.I'll definitely check the resort out the next time I'm in the area.

Sounds like a good deal as long as you try to equalize the free play to real $

Visited the casino while on vacation in Deep Creek, Maryland.Casino is only about a year old, small but nice and clean.  Staff was very friendly. As for Video Poker, most of the machines are located at the two bars.  Different than I've seen before, you can play several variations such as Spin Poker, Super Times Pay, Game King, Triple Play, 5 Times Play and others.  If I remember correctly, you can also play Keno and Blackjack on the machines. As far as the casino floor, there were at least 8 Ultimate X machines, but I didn't try these.  The only other Video Poker machines I saw were a few All-Star Poker machines in the $1 and $5 denominations.Well worth visiting, but I don't know how hard it would be to get a machine on the weekend.  I was there on last Tuesday, late morning to late afternoon and had my pick of the Video Poker machines at the bar.

This is all nice, but would be nicer with information on what pay scales are offered.

I'd be interested to know this too, but definitely not expecting much since Maryland taxes 67% of adjusted gross revenue on electronic gaming devices.

If I was playing in MD or PA, I would strongly consider playing blackjack instead, even though I'm not a big fan of the game. Both states mandate 3 to 2 on blackjack and "stand on all 17s", even at the lowest limits. That's like a state mandating all casinos having 9/6 JoB for quarters. I wish a state near me (or Vegas) would do that...

That's still better than some places in Maryland I think. Are you mostly a JoB player? Or did you play it because that was the best option at the bar?
