Hot Streak

My wife and I play VP in nearby La. and have had some really good streaks like RF within 10 minutes of each other and on consecutive days but she has really been on a great streak lately.Three weeks ago she hits a RF on a 50 cent machine.  The next week when we arrive she is upset, someone is on "her" machine.  Twenty minutes later she gets on the same 50 cent machine and within 5 minutes hits another RF - same hand-spades on the same machine as the week before.   What are those odds?  She is on a real streak.   This past week we help a brother celebrate a wedding anniversary so we visit the two casinos we play.  They are just learning VP but want to see how "she wins. "  I get hot, 4Aces with Kicker on DDB, more quads and my first 4 deuces on DW (50cents).   My poor wife can't hit a thing.  Later that night we play and can't buy a hit.  After our family goes to bed we move to $VP with our remaining daily allotment.   My wife has $60 to play.  First machine, first two hands straight flushes on DW.   Goes up several hundred, cashes out and decides to play five, five dollar bills that she has from the cash out and save the big bills for the next day.   Plays the $25 and second spin DW - 4 deuces for $1K.   Now she is on a roll.  She finishes the night up (2 hours later) almost up $2K and can't miss.  Even hits quads on DDB.The next day we play, she gets tired and goes to 50 play nickel VP (which she never plays) to sit by family and help them learn.  She randomly plays beside them helping them with their hands.  Plays 10 hands DW and draws a RF-spades again for $2K.Way to go lady!  Ride the streak while you can - I don't even mind the G forms.  The look on her face when she hits a RF or 4 deuces is priceless.

Hot streaks are a great time. You feel like you will win forever. OTOH, the cold streaks can beat you to a pulp. After a while you can feel like you'll never hit another jackpot in your life. Many people who get on hot streaks don't understand it is pure and simple luck. When the requisite cold streak comes around they blame the casino for changing the machines.
 
Sounds to me like you understand exactly what is happening. Good for you and continued good luck to both of you.

I love the hot streaks!  Before I started to play video poker. I hit a $1,800 slot win. Went to another dollar machine and hit another $1,800 on first play. Went to another machine and hit a $800 and followed that with another $400 on same machine.  I was getting ready to leave when daughter sends a text message and wants to eat at the casino that night. So STAY THERE DAD! I did. I hit another $1,000 win about fifteen minutes.
 
I decided I could buy supper!  Daughter wanted to play but did not have any money and I gave a hundred dollars. She said, "Rather just keep the $100."  I told her, "I will give you another hundred if you lose this one." So she went to play a dollar machine. First play hit for three hundred and she was so excited. I had her cash that one out. Then she went to play another machine and she hit $200 on first play again!  She is up five hundred dollars and says that is enough.  She gave me back my $96 left and went home very happy.
 
Honestly I think I was happier for her wins than my own that day. I went home with right at $4,000 as I had played without getting any wins after the $1,000 last hit. I had played enough that day to get my diamond card for the year as well at Harrah's so that was an added bonus.
 
Have not had one of those days in a year! Sure wish it would happen again soon.
