Favorite Las Vegas Casino

Post by Buzzardlips »

My wife and I visit Las Vegas at least four times a year and always stay downtown at Mainstreet Station.  They still have a good selection of 25 cent real quarter video poker machines like 8/5 Bonus Poker and 9/6 Jacks or Better.  They also have 10/7 Double Bonus Poker.  My favorite game there is the Treasure Chest which has a pay schedule like the 8/5 Bonus Poker but when you get a four-of-a-kind you get to choose between five treasure chests for your payout.  Most of the payouts are 140 coins but they also have some at 180, 250, 500 and $1199!  I have hit an $1199 on each of our last two visits.  Slot techs are super nice and the food is excellent!  Comps are great also. We haven't had to pay anything for food or hotel for the last five years.  Just a great place to play.

Welcome to the forum!

And $1199 on your last two visits on Treasure Chest poker? You might be running hotter than Florida Phil...haha Hitting one of those is much rarer than a Royal Flush as Sam Boyd and his kin aren't dumb enough to offer THAT good of a VP game. The payback for the game with a full 5000 coin jackpot is 98.43% (not terrible). It's 98.41% for a 4796 coin jackpot (plus any progressives).

Data according to this thread:
Treasure Chest emulation discussion

You are only supposed to get the jackpot chest with every 400 picks on average. So the odds of hitting it are 1 in 169,284 hands, or 4.21 times LESS likely than a Royal Flush.

Here is what the entire four of a kind breakdown looks like:

Jackpot: 0.25%
500 coins: 3%
250 coins: 4%
180 coins: 15%
140 coins: 77.75%

Thanks for the information on the odds for hitting that $1199 on the Treasure Chest.  I knew it was a rare event but had no idea as to the actual odds.  Really gets your attention when it starts playing the music and the background changes colors.  Very exciting!

You're welcome! And its rarity definitely makes it more exciting! Definitely good to hear those that are hitting big against the casino.
