DB...If you want a mid week overnight stay at Mohegan, give me a holler. No comp rooms listed yet for me for Jan or Feb, but a few dates remaining in December. I left all of the Royals, Deuces quads, and other big premium hands in the machines for you as you can see from my recent posts. The Mrs. has fished out some aces quads on the nickel games, but she has left the quarter and up aces quads in there for you too. What reminded me to post this are some of BJ's posts about there being only so many premium hands to go around. I actually think there is something to that.

  Very interesting blurb today about Carl Icahn's latest salvo fired over the bow of the union; he said the Taj was really a bad investment for him but he was doing it to save the 3,000 jobs that would be lost. He said that he would go ahead with the keeping the Taj open if the union dropped their grievance.
OK - two things that usually NEVER collide in the same sentence with Carl Icahn: (1) saving ANYONE'S job and (2) a bad investment.

I actually think there is something to that.Thanks a bunch sir, that is truly very considerate.......Hopefully I can reciprocate your generosity someday when I finally get a chance to meet you.     December is not a good month for me right now to plan a Mohegan Overnight trip, but I may be there for a DAYTIME poker session before X_MAS  so I will alert you if that comes to pass.   I have a crapload of offers from AC properties like Resorts and now Golden Nugget which I am desperately trying to not waste by getting down there in December, but it is hard now for MANY reasons (weather, Holidays, health, new project etc.)   I may be in AC from 12/5 thru 12/9, but I really want to be there during the week before x-mas (12/17 thru 24) because I have a lot of free play and food comps in that period (the week before x-mas and just after is notoriously DEAD in AC)January, and definitely February are possible months for me to spend a night or two in Mohegan so again, I will let you know......I still get offers from nearby hotels (1 or 2 miles away) to the Mohegan (like the Marriot and Holiday Inn) with low cost room deals that have a shuttle to the casino.....

The only reason that I can think of as to why they didn't give you anything tangible. Is that you have had a card already. I know it's hard for you to get around. Are you able to use the free rooms at the taj and play at the Borgata. This will help to build Borgata comp dollars. Check your account in the Borgata website for your room offers.Thanks a lot Jimdeuce!   I think you are correct, I did have a (more or less) inactive card account already, so that has something to do with it I think........when I say Inactive, it is NOT completely inactive......I have a LOT of Poker activity at Borgata but I always understood this to be apart from Casino action.......and of course I would play a few hands of VP while waiting for a toruney to start or for a cash game to resume or seat to open up, but nothing to even register on a rating system or comp trak......I may book a one night stay at Borgata the week before x-mas at a very low rate (89 bucks) and then simply ask a host to cover it when I checkout based on the action I will obviously play during the stay, and then once I do that, the room offers should start.But yes, I can (and do) stay at places like TAJ and then simply play somewhere else, but this is becoming harder to do as all the properties that have shuttered remove one more place to stay and play.   At one time, I had free room offers from every AC place except Borgata and Golden Nugget!    I literally could live in AC for an entire month at a time with all the free room offers (which included coveted friday/saturday stays at places like the TAJ and the old AC CLUB).    So you can see why, with Taj shuttering, my AC exploits will be curtailed for a while at least until I can pivot all the play there to a place like Borgata or Golden Nugget (or even Back to the Tropicana, which is rapidly becoming the second best overall property in AC behind Borgata....the Trop definitely has the most extensive IN-HOUSE array of shopping, dining and entertainment in AC!   Their "Marketplace"  (aka "THE QUARTER") has something for everyone, and you cant beat their IMAX theater if there is a movie you want to see (comps work there too, at 1:1)

Happy Thanksgiving to all and special good health wishes for BJ amd DB. By the way DB, sir of course is polite, but sounds so old to me Of course I am getting old. Plain old Olds sounds good to me. As my Mrs. constantly reminds me, I think you are going to think you are 18 forever.    Just trying to stay a little upbeat here. We lost both of our kittys in recent months partly due to age, but not all. They can really lower your blood pressure when you are down a little. We really miss them. They were both shelter cats and they had 14 good years with us. I know this isn't really vp related, so I will close by asking for a few suggestions for names ( vp related ) for whatever the future brings to us in the way of kittys. Sometimes they just show up and say here I am can I stay here. DB....I think I already know one of the names you would send me....AC...might just use that one someday soon....
