Thanks for the trip report. I'm off to Cherokee in a couple weeks and hope I can improve my luck on their tight machines. No RFs there in 3 years and over 150k hands. Seems like I have better luck on cruise ships!

Just back from the Cherokee visit mentioned above. Got in about 20 hours of play over 2.5 days, and FINALLY hit a RF after 3 years of visits. Then - as luck would have it - I hit a 2nd RF about 5 hours later  with a hand pay. Came out ahead this trip. Best plays I found were 3-play Bonus Poker in the 0.25 and 0.50 denominations - not great but when combined with cashback, comped meals and rooms, it seemed the best way to stretch out my money and time. There's a nice bank of $0.50 DDBP machines with a progressive, but the progressive never got up to the $3000+ level it needs to become a reasonable play, plus the machines are in the Smoking section, so I didn't spend much time there. Aside from the sessions with RFs, the machines I was playing on averaged about 93% to 96% returns, which was better than the norm I have experienced there previously of 86% to 94% returns per session. Had great steaks at Ruth's Chris and nice pasta dishes at Brio. All in all a good trip this time!

Nice job

I do not get to Cherokee that often anymore, but I have had some good, winning trips over the years.

gcrem, two royals in one day, You will always remeber that day, congrats. The wife and i were at Cherokee on the 27th, so our paths likely crossed. Glad you did well, as i was a donator. I was also there 2 weeks ago, dealt quad 2 w/kicker and drew quad A's w/kicker, both on TDB. Even with those two good size hits, still only won a couple of hundred.  I agree, Cherokee does not have the best paytables, but, i tend to get more free play there, than many other casinos. Their employees are among the nicest at any casino, but their machines need lots of repairs.
