Got a call from a Lake Charles Golden Nugget employee. GN-LC will be opening up in December (date being finalized) and definitely open by New Year's Eve. When we get the call with the final opening information, I'll post.

Received updated info via text today (11/13/14):
Golden Nugget Lake Charles top level members (Elite and Chairman) will be receiving an email in the next few days concerning opening. The email will also give room reservation information/offers. The casino will have a "soft opening" in early December prior to the official Grand Opening. A public release will be coming out shortly.
GNLC has a Players Club Sign Up Center at Nelson Rd & Prien Lake Rd in Lake Charles to register new players who visit the Lake Charles casinos. They are offering initial membership levels equal to membership level of L'Auberge, Isle, and Coushatta. Players can also sign-up online:

Should be interesting to see how whether how their VP comes out - whether they have higher returns to beat L'Auberge du Lac (LDL) or they match them. My guess based on what I hear from the other GN casinos is that they will match LDL and play for the big high $ players.
Where do you come in from?

Had a nice conversation with one of the construction workers at Golden Nugget who was playing at Coushatta this weekend. He said the casino is incredibly beautiful. Casino is finished and the crews are working 60 hour weeks to complete the hotel and shops. Looking forward to spending our first night there Dec. 8 during the soft opening.

I wish the Golden Nugget had some spin poker machines.
Check the "All Star" machine. Our daughter generally prefers Spin and I think she told us that is what she played at GN yesterday but denomination was 25¢. I'll check with her later to confirm and report ....if I remember. I would make it a point to ask to talk to the Slot Supervisor the next time your are there and request Spin be added. If you have a host, I'd recommend sending them a request as well.
