Monthly Top 100

Post by WheelMan »

I'm curious how close you have to be to the 10th place finisher to finish in the top 100 for the monthly contests. I say "10th place" rather than "leader" because I'm guessing the leader's score could have more variance month-to-month - but that's just a guess.

Of course, there is some variablility in 10th vs 100th month to month, but I'd like to have a ballpark figure. It could be in percentage terms, or in number of Royals, or some measure I haven't thought of.

Any data appreciated.

You could go to past results, and see the top 100 scores for each monthly contest.

Outstanding tip! It appears that, although there is Top 10 data for the monthly contest going back to February, the Top 100 has only been logged since July. Cumulative monthly scores for the 100th place finisher for the 5 months available range from 75,500 to 78,675. The two months with 30 days have scores 2000 to 3000 less than the other months - not too surprising.

IMO it's possible to reach the top 100 without a Royal, but it's unlikely without a few lesser lucky hits.

That's right on. I finished 45th in November with no royals, but 5 or 6 sets of deuces playing deuces wild.

You will usually crack the top 100 playing Deuces Wild properly while popping quad deuces four times without hitting a RF.
