A $1000 royal should not have triggered a W2G. I've been to a few small casinos around the country where they hand paid everything over $500, but I can't believe they would do that in AC. Did you ask for a check? Maybe they asked for your SS# because they were issuing you a check?

$1000 is not even a hand pay in AC,that's just a ticket you would cash out of the machine.

So I guess there is some confusion on the Original poster's part.....But the story about just how tough things have gotten is one that MANY people are repeating and relating......so clearly something has changed or has happened and we all will not be winning as much or as often.

I do trust the cage manager, the only employee with it. It should be okay. It does seem like the check request meant they needed a SSN. But next time I'm under $1200 on a win, I will just take the money and run.
