Quick Quads Changes Strategy

Post by brockster »

What a big change in strategy when playing any version of video poker involving Quick Quads! Requires a whole other mindset during the game. I've noticed many people over looking potential winning hands by holding only a pair and not noticing the other two cards that can make a Quick Quads winner!

Yes, it's a very fun strategy to learn, and requires a number of changes that people tend to overlook. We have a complete guide and strategy cards available here: http://www.videopoker.com/quickquads/

What would be even more fun would be if you could play BPDX with Quick Quads. But since it's not in the game selection on this site or the strategy guides , I'm guessing it's probably not a option at the casino either?

Yes it would be much much more fun!!!

It's definitely not an option at the casino because if the paytable is in standard bonus deluxe format then 6/5 would pay 103.03%. 400 credit quads for all ranks is huge for quick quads.

Theoretical strategy for 6/5 Bonus Deluxe w/QQ

I was one of those video poker players who overlooked the quick quad winning possibilities! But no longer.

Theoretical strategy for 6/5 Bonus Deluxe w/QQI disagree.9/6 DDB QQ has regular quads at 260; 2s, 3s, 4s, at 400/1000 depending on the kicker; and aces at 1000/2000 depending on the kicker. The weighted average of that is not that much lower than 400 per. I don't have frequency numbers of these events in QQ so I can't give you an exact figure. With a pay schedule of 8/6 BPDX, they could easily make it work. Remember you pay 6 coins per line and only get paid back based on 5 coins. The man who designed the QQ pay schedules, Mike Wood, passed away a few years ago. He and Ernie Moody (owner of videopoker.com) were very close. There has been an understandable reluctance to go in and make enhancements on some of the projects Mike Wood worked on.So while it isn't likely to happen, it would not be that hard.Bob

Can I wager every penny I currently have on my bank account on this (which you could easily afford sadly ) for even money?

Using standard Quick Quad rules where hands of trips of ranks two through ten along with a sum of the two kickers equaling that trip's rank (with Ace being valued as one for this purpose) is always considered to be a 400 credit four of a kind while using this exact paytable for a six-coin wager. Of course Mike Shackleford would adjudicate this proposed wager.

Royal Flush 4000
Straight Flush 250
Four of a Kind 400
Full House 30
Flush 25
Straight 20
Three of a Kind 15
Two Pair 5
Jacks or Better 5

A casino would not offer this paytable as it would pay more than Full Pay Deuces Wild by percentage return under standard Quick Quad rules. Any return > 100.76% would win the proposed wager for me.

Please???? I'm poor.

The strategy changes aren't that hard to learn.
