Phoenix Trip

Post by HiVoltage »

Have a question about VP in Phoenix. I am really looking forward to my first trip there in late April. Playing golf at TPC Scottsdale on the day of my arrival and I will have some free time before my seminar starts. There appear to be several local casinos in the area. Looking on here is seems the reviews are mixed about where to play. Fort McDowell and Harrahs Ak Chin seem to be the best options. It appears as though McDowell used to have the best selection with the best payouts but looks like they have made some changes. Is this indeed the case? I prefer to play Deuces or DDB $1 5 play but often time will jump on a $5 single line as not all places have multi line games. Can someone local help me out? Thanks

Not a local but heard that Fort McDowell is pretty much the best in the state. Very good single line games at $1 denomination INCLUDING 50/10/6 DDB and Almost Full Pay Deuces Wild!!!

The Fort is 16.6 miles from TPC about 28 min via Shea Blvd.
Talking Stick is 9 miles and 13 minutes from TPC

The Fort has 10/6 DDB and 9/7 TDB @$1
Talking Stick has SQUAT!!!

Concur that the best paytables, etc. are at Fort McDowell. The Fort also has a non-smoking area with VP. Ak Chin is approximately 50 miles south of TPC in Maricopa. Quite frankly, we have soured on Ak Chin due to the attitude of casino floor staff. The latter happened awhile ago, and we may go back for bingo - the staff at Ak-Chin has always been really nice - now that we have taken a break from VP.
