Casinos in Reno, NV

Post by RichRiver-AZ »

My husband and I are going to Reno this coming year in 2015 and I was wondering if anyone has any favorite casinos out there, what are the best ones to go to?

most are very good in the Reno area, but the Peppermill consistently ranks at the top, and I personally enjoy El dorado, silver legacy and even the Harrahs.     Heck, even the circus circus is far superior to the Las Vegas version of circus circus. In my opinion, Reno is a great alternative to the nutsery and congestion and overdone overwhelmingness that Las Vegas generally foists on visitors these days.     Only draw back to Reno is it can be a bit more expensive to fly to from certain areas and destinations, but so what....its worth it!

Reno is garbage.
Comps are GREAT...but overall, I wouldn't make a special visit to it.
If you have the ability to go to Vegas instead, DO IT.
Reno is just like a normal city with Casino's/Slum's downtown.

I guess one man's trash is another man's treasure. Reno is a great place to play video poker. All the places Daburglar mentioned above are great to play video poker. If you want to add some scenery to the mix it is only a little over an hour to Lake Tahoe the most beautiful place in the world.

As a Seven Star with Caesars, I had one of my greatest experiences at Harrahs Reno. The limo driver had me all checked into my room, with my room keys in his hand, when he picked me up at the airport. The room had a nice welcome gift, and the host stopped by my machine about 2 minutes into my play, asking me how all the arrangements were.

I really enjoyed that trip.

On our trip to Reno we took advantage of a couple free nites at Atlantis courtesy of one of their VP.com contests. Didn't get to the Peppermill, which is closer to downtown on Atlantic, so can't compare. But one selling point for me would be the Atlantis's excellent sushi and seafood place. Not the same level of glitz and glamour as Lost Wages but also no, or at least fewer, timeshare salespeople, call girl pamphleteers and suchlike. I'd threaten to retire there if Mrs. Minn wasn't worried I'd spend all my time in some casino or other.

Both the Atlantis and the Peppermill have really good video poker. They are both on Virginia St.,away from downtown, and about a mile apart. I go to Reno a lot and pretty much alternate between these two places. Both have good restaurants too.

I've played table games at Harrah's Reno (their VP is worse than nearby Silver Legacy)

EDIT: Changed to Legacy

I usually hang out at Harrah's but I poked my head into some other sites. Silver Legacy is super beautiful. Circus Circus was nice.

I went to Siena. Their comps are nice but I smelled like Axe Body Spray for a week after.
