Leaving for Reno
Be leaving for Reno Monday, another first for me so I don't know what to expect from the place. Anyone with ideas or suggestions as what we can do there will be greatly appreciated.

Heard there is good Video Poker there.
Peppermill and Atlantis (named #1 casino outside of Vegas by USA Today) are widely mentioned to be the best places.
Good luck to you.

Was just in Reno, kinda sad with lots of homeless and empty buildings. Hopefully, the new River Walk will revitalize it somewhat. On the other hand, the Peppermill and Atlantis are just outside of Reno proper and seem to be really nice, especially the Peppermill. They have to try harder as they are outside of the usual casino area.

I was little surprised to see all the homeless folks and empty buildings myself. We went on the River Walk and was surprised to see how dirty it was, trash everywhere. Seems to be they could make use of the two things they had plenty of, the homeless and trash, why not hire them to clean the place up. The video poker was horrible but thankfully we found other things to keep us busy.

Pay tables were decent for $1 DDB 9/7 was what most of the casinos had. A case of very unfavorable variance, plenty of folks playing vp, didn't see a single hand pay until the night before we left. No surprise to me though, third Nevada trip and they've all been the same, horrible results.
