I am going this weekend to Biloxi/Gulfport. I have $175 free play at the Island View!!---sucks that it can't be used on video poker! I usual play $1 DDB Video poker.   Have comped rooms-- but due to the holiday, they are booked. I have a room booked at the Golden Nugget. $30 for jr. suite. Which casino do you prefer of the two? Tell me about the video poker options at both. Thank you!!

I have never been to the Island View so I can't help you there. However I have been to the Golden Nugget a few times, including a trip this past Thanksgiving.In my opinion over the past two years the Nugget's offerings for video poker have really declined. Several of their best paytables have been removed. There is a video poker bar that has well maintained machines. I believe their best DDB is 9/5, but there are several 8/5 mixed in. Most of the machines not at the bar have some maintenance issues, sticky buttons, fading screens, etc.If you don't mind driving a few minutes from the Nugget there is a new casino near the IP on the back bay called the Scarlet Pearl. All the machines are brand new, seats are very comfortable and food is reasonably priced. They have 9/6 DDB at the $1 denom as well as 9/7 TDB and airport deuces. Best of all they are offering a $500 loss rebate to new players on their first day. The rebate is in the form of free play by mailers for future play. The rebate is good for VP losses and can be redeemed on VP! I know this because unfortunately I lost 300 on my first day. Thanks so much! I usually only go to Vicksburg casinos since it's only a little over an hour away... But really want to get weekend room offers on the coast due to having kids (free weekends for spring break/summer). Will be giving the Scarlett a try. I must say that island view has REALLY gave me much to look forward to... $175 each week, 3 free nights anytime each week, and food credit!   Thanks so much! I'll be the one hitting the RF jackpots all weekend at the Nugget... Lol
