Just curious....how many of the gang out there have access to 9/7/5 or even 10/7/5?

STL and Chicagoland have it for quarters at least one casino. I tended to play it more in KC though when I visited. Also played it in Tunica for awhile on a bartop that had the wrong paytable. Got this pretty hand as a result.

I played the rare 10/6/5 DB (98.88% before STP) last week. They don't offer 9/7/5 DB with STP because top jackpot odds would exceed 1 in 17 million, which would make it illegal in a few states including CT.

Because in 9/7/5 DB 4 to a flush beats 3 to a Royal unless it's KQJ or QJT. Also a four flush beats a pair of face cards along with the changes new2vp suggested.

Have 9/7/5 ....don't play it very often, hits seem rare.

Haha, yeah... that's M's dad. I was putting points on his card to try to keep the his meager balances active since he got nothing from Tunica. And no mlife casino in chicago obviously. It was for naught anyway. They expired this year.

After giving it a little thought, I'm guessing there are 4 relatively easy changes to your Jacks or Better strategy that might make up some of the deficit and let you lose a little less EV.

At the top of the chart:
1. Break up a Full House to hold trip aces.
2. Break up Two Pair to hold a pair of aces. (These two changes take advantage of that big quad aces jackpot, 800 instead of the 125 that Jacks or Better gives you)

At the bottom of the chart, rather than tossing in all 5 cards when jacks or better strategy tells you to,
3. Hold an inside straight draw with 4 low cards like 6432 or 9865, or if you can't do that,
4. Hold 3 little cards of the same suit. (These take advantage of the bigger payouts for straights and flushes).

Only slightly harder would be instead of holding a single high card by itself, also hold 2 suited cards along with it when you have them (like J32 of hearts or A96 of spades), but I realize that's getting a little more into the weeds.

Whatever you do, have a good time.
more easy-to-make strategy changes

ALWAYS hold a flush kicker to a 3-card-royal when available --- such as AKQ4 suited (This is not always correct, but making the play always is better than never making the play)

ALWAYS hold a flush kicker to a 2-card royal when available --- such as KQ4 suited (Same caveat as above)

hold a 4-card- open-ended straight over a low pair, such as from 33456 sufficiently unsuited, hold 3456.

the last comment "Whatever you do, have a good time" is for people who think the Recreational Forum here provides valuable information. I believe that whatever you do, only play when you have the advantage!

At least at mohegan sun, i believe any 99 percent or better game when played correctly combined with free play and other comps associated with soar status will always give you an advantage. A 99.1 game with free play will bring the house edge down to about .5 percent. An average 10000 dollar coin in session gives them an edge of only 50 bucks. The value of your room, free food, shows, gifts, etc. etc. is in the hundreds. The party alone they threw the other night alone came with a 250 gift card and of course the room was comp.

Foxwoods still has 9/6 job at the dollar level. I could be wrong, but I doubt Mohegan would eliminate theirs as long as Foxwoods keeps theirs. Also Foxwoods gives you points you can spend on this game. Mohegan Sun does not. I just don't see many people playing job anymore. Too boring for most people. At least 80 percent of the players I see at the dollar level play DDB. A few play Deuces Wild and a few job, but not too many other games.
