There is an old carpenter's saying that goes: measure twice, cut once.

Having one with such a responsible job as a parent is a jackpot in itself. Today the first thing I did was hit .25.

I once saw an elderly lady thrown out of a casino after she did this. She was playing dollars and didn't realize it. She went through $100 in no time. She called the slot attendant and said the machine had malfunctioned. She put up quit a ruckus. They called the manager and he explained to her what she had done. She threw a temper tantrum and started calling them every name in the book. Two security guards bodily escorted her to the door.
One time my wife was playing VP. When she cashed out, the machine randomly picked a game to display. When she started back, she was playing DDB and didn't realize it. She promptly hit a $400 jackpot and asked me what happened? I showed her what she had done and we both had a good laugh. As I remember, she gave me the $400.

Nice outcome. These machines do have a mind of their own, and it's overly active. They can't be dormant for ten seconds. They always have some vicious high denomination game lined up for the next sucker or unwary recidivist!

Good thing she wasn't on a cruise ship.FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 4:33 amI once saw an elderly lady thrown out of a casino after she did this. She was playing dollars and didn't realize it. Once on a cruise I saw a lady hit a royal on the dollar game and was so excited about it she hit the double up instead of the cash out. Management explained she had to finish the hand. They couldn't/wouldn't do anything about her "mistake". Oh well. She beat the 10 with a Jack for 8k.
BTW it was my bride.

Funny. They may have thrown her overboard!
The worst thing that happened to me like that was when I was playing at an Indian Casino out in the everglades. I put in a $100 bill and was playing single coin dollars. After a decent run up I hit the max coin button thinking my bet would be $5. This casino had max coins set to 100 coins and the machine sucked up the whole thing! There weren't any more options, so I played the hand and hit the deal button. Lucky for me I hit a straight. Whew....
