Thanks everyone.

To Case, I did have 20 single line and 3 muti line royals in 2018. Not sure if I could ever best that, that was a whole lot of play and want to cut back play this year. I am still a working stiff 40 hours a week.

To Phil, after the 3rd one I got thinking about your story of 4 in one day at the $1 level, I had 4 to the royal several times but it was not in the cards. :P I agree, no tax forms made the ride home knowing all $2,800 in my wallet was all my profit I did not have the tax man pulling at it!

Negative games hurt when April 15th comes around and them tax forms have to be added in.

I don't have my coin in statements yet but my records are very close.

Here is my 2018 report: coin in $2.3 million, Free play $19,960, Promo winnings, $10,150

My first ever profit playing VP in 10 years of playing. Well if you back out free play and promo wins from my 15k profit we see the negative return on the games themselves. Plus I still got April 15th to deal with, I did have some tax taken out. In a normal years I might get 2 or 3 and not worry much about it. This year 17 payouts just me and my wife had 6, it was a record year in a tax change year, not looking forward to April. :?

Our tax returns are complex. It always make me nervous to have gambling revenue on my returns. I have been audited by the IRS once in my life. They sent two IRS agents to my office. It took them three weeks to go though everything. When they were done I owed the IRS nothing, but it cost me a fortune in accounting fees. I do not wish to repeat that experience.

That is one reason I play quarter VP. There are others, but it doesn't mean anything to this forum. With the Federal and State taxes the way they are now, I would think a lot of VP players are thinking the same thing. Going to the trouble of hunting down good games, playing as perfectly as you can and suffering through huge bankroll swings when you have the Government as a business partner doesn't make much sense to me.

congratulations! what a great start to the new year.

to answer someone's question - 4 $1,000 wins over 1 $4,000 win is more attractive. the kicker part is having that in one day....I'd dance my way out of the casino

Amazing, in one day you matched my lifetime total in single line (non Dream Card) royals.

I hear ya on the tax deal. I had a rough year and lost a few $k, but with $14k in signers my tax refund will be reduced quite a bit - adding to my losses. I tried to load up on 2018 tax deductions, even pre-paying the mortgage until June 2019 but I still can't hit that $24k standard deduction.

To that end, I've been playing more Bonus Deluxe. Even at the $2 level, only royals are signers.

You need spades for the 2019 RF All Suits team. What BR are we talking here?

The tax situation is a real bummer. I wrote about it early on in another post. For most people including me it is very hard to come up with over 24 k in itemized deductions and of course we are forced to itemize to write off the federal. I get a double whammy in ct where they steal about 6 or 7 percent from me on gross winnings. Imo they need an average prrson running all forms of government not just multi millionaires and billionaires. They will become one when out of office anyway
