I would still play but at the nickel level like years ago. Had just as much fun back then and less stress. I still have some doubts on the RNGs. Why can i play and stay even on wolf vp but lose between 2 and 4 percent every year for real at the casino year after year. Sane paytables too

I do not doubt the fairness of the games. I have never had positive games to play locally, so I have nothing to compare to. Our jackpots seem to come at the predicted frequency. Sometimes we get lucky and jackpots happen often. Sometimes the opposite happens. I think that's just video poker.

Playing video poker costs money. So do other forms of entertainment. I have never had anyone pay me for buying a boat, a fishing rod or going to a movie. I have had numerous casinos pay me for playing VP. If I play long enough, they get paid. If I win and never go back, they lose. All in all, I like playing video poker. I like playing the game small. My regrets don't last long. The casino is not paying a lot of their bills from our quarter play. They must want us to come back as they keep sending us offers. If they didn't let us stay in their hotels for free, we would reevaluate the situation.

Phil, last fall weren't you doubting the fairness of the games when you played in Atlantic City?

For whatever reason, AC machines are prone to mishaps and unintended holds. I haven't had them in a while, knock on wood. Maybe "unfair" is a reach, but absolute FUBAR machines are scattered throughout town. Nobody complains loudly enough to decommission them.

We virtually stopped playing VP because of health issues caused by the smoke-filled casinos. Were the right VP games we like (DDB progressive) in a smoke-free casino, we probably would resume playing though no where near as in the past. We are satisfied with bingo in enclosed non-smoking rooms. Just as video games basically eliminated pinball machines, as senior VP players die out, the same is and probably will happen with VP and also bingo.

Video killed the radio star, and the pinball machine industry!

Glad you guys can still enjoy OttaBill the Bingo sessions. I tried, but never had the patience for it. It certainly would have been cheaper than vp for me.

Atlantic City is a toilet. The machines were so dirty we should have used surgical gloves to play them. The cigarette ashes were a 1/4 inch thick and the air stinks. I have been to Atlantic City twice in my life. Both times I got sick. The first time I got food poisoning in one of the restaurants. The last time, my wife got pneumonia on our trip. She became so ill she feel down and broke her leg and her arm. I got the flu and it ruined our whole vacation. I lost money every day on that trip. The bar was full of drunk rowdy kids at 6 AM. It was the worst experience I have every had in a casino. The hold buttons on the VP machines we played were malfunctioning. This caused unintended errors which increased the house edge substantially. Draw your own conclusions.

I am finding myself having less and less tolerance for smokers. They are all idiots. I went to the casino on Friday. I was playing in Tampa's new section because all the machines are new. Up walks a guy who obviously had had a stroke. He was partially crippled on one side. What does he do? He struggles onto the chair and lights up a cigarette. He can't hold it and play at the same time so he lets it dangle from his mouth. Ashes are falling all over. Smoke is filling the air. I asked him if he minded not smoking. He told me to play in the non smoking section. Is it his right to pollute my air, to make me sick and possibly end up like him? I don't think so.

So when you wrote of allegedly redrawing the same card you just discarded (or some other anomaly) you are now attributing to malfunctioning hold buttons?
