Phil, you do know that there are other VP websites that are totally FREE to play any VP game you want all you want. AND, even though it is free, there are no stupid ads that slow down or freeze the game.
I choose this website for a number of reasons. There are no ads when I play here. The $8.95 I pay not to see them is equal to about 7 casino hands a month. That's not going to change my lifestyle.

The biggest value to me is playing VP against other players on a daily basis. It's fun and we all get a chance to be heroes for a day. This website also keeps me out of the casino. That alone must be worth at least $10K a year. Lately, I am playing more VP on this website than in a casino. I may eventually quit going to the casino entirely. The casinos keep adding aggravations and they are starting to add up. Dropping odds and comps, smokers, bad buttons, temptations I don't need, long drives and the travel cost are just a few.

I enjoy this forum. It gives me something to think about and I like to think I do the same for others. We don't all agree. Some members have an agenda or are promoting something. Some members like me just want a good conversation. Over the years, I must say the management of this forum has been excellent. They give everyone room enough to express their opinions without being overbearing.

Video poker does not dominate my life. It may seem so because I post here often. That happens because I'm on the computer all day and I keep the forum open on my desktop. I have learned a lot from this forum and I'm sure I will in the future.

I have been playing at the Borgata since it opened. Phil is right about the maintenance on some machines. 2 of the 4 Game Kings that have SDB that I play have sticky buttons. I won't play those machines. However, I have never seen a discard re appear on any machine. I have specifically looked for this after Phil mentioned it. The casinos on the boardwalk, with the exception of the 2 new ones are sh**holes and I haven't gone to them in years. The Borgata however has some really good restaurants and the Water Club in particular has a nice indoor/outdoor pool area. I have not noticed the cigarette ash problem, but that is probably because I never play in the smoking areas. I have been to the Mohegan Sun and it is a great venue, but too far for me. I would play the $1.00 full pay pickems all day long even if they didn't give points. As far as the rest of Phil's comments on the cleanliness at the Borgata, I don't agree and I'm there on a regular basis.

I will be down in Tampa for a long weekend in March and might check out the Hard Rock, but it looks like the VP paytables aren't great.

I'm growing tired of Bally's bad buttons also after yesterday. What an ordeal. Two quads do ease the pain.

Good luck finding long term positive VP opportunities in the Southeast. That's the bad news. The good news is anything can happen in the short term. Some of my biggest wins came playing so called loser VP games. You can play 98.9% single line Deuces Wild in Tampa if you step up to 50 cents and higher. 7/5 Bonus Poker is available in all denominations. Double double bonus is generally 8/5. I avoid that game. If I play it at all it's $20 at a throw and I run on any win.

Tampa is a huge casino. It's a day's fun just to walk through it. As you will see it's under construction with a new hotel behind the current one. If you like slots, you will go nuts.

I may throw a few hundred at the .50 98.9% deuces, but nothing else.

That's a plan. If I was going to do that I would play dollars. Quad deuces are not scarce in Tampa.

Relevant to this discussion is an item/article I posted in the Anything and Everything Forum regarding CET planning a non-gaming hotel in Scottsdale. In my view, it indicates how CET views its future.

I believe casinos will always be popular with those who have extra money and time on their hands. In the future there will be less brick and mortar casinos and more on-line casinos. Video poker will not exist as we know it. It will be replaced with interactive story line slots with high resolution graphics and sound. There will still be strategy. Someone may figure out how to beat those games and will become the next generation's expert. If I'm still playing Deuces Wild 20 years from now, I will be surprised. If I'm still around 20 years from now, I will be happy with that result.
