Last week we were in Gulfport Miss and found a new casino called Beach Casino. It is an extension of the Island View Casino. The Beach is completely smoke free and beautiful being right on the Gulf Of Mexico. The casinos are joined by an indoor bridge across the hyway from each other.
This seems to be the way of the future as more casinos offer smoke free buildings or at least smoke free rooms. New casinos being built are taking non smokers more into consideration. Older casinos don't always have an option so not many changes there.
I know there are many smokers but each year those numbers are going down. We have been on our annual cross country tour and really are starting to see the difference in how casinos are trying to accomadate everyone.
In Windsor Canada there is no smoking anywhere and the casino is mostly filled with Americans from Michigan who don't smoke. They have three casinos in Detroit but people will get passports and pay boarder tolls just to avoid the smoke (and a good break on exchanging US dollars to Canadian) I always ask them why they go to the trouble of crossing the boarder and the usual answer is the lack of smoke.
I know they have tried this in places like Vegas and it did not work, however little by little the tide is turning. I have nothing against smokers as they have every right to smoke but the non smokers must also be accomadated.
We are in the Florida Panhandle for the month and then will head down south for a month to Lake Placid FL for another month. This will be over two months without gambling and that might be our longest break in the last 10 years.

Also forgot to add on the way through Biloxi we also played in another smoke free casino called The Palace. Seemed to be enough people there playing as well.

So glad to hear that. I wish Ct. would get their act together in that regard. Ma. is all non smoking and is already starting to affect the casino business in Ct. I have nothing against smokers either as long as it isn't at my expense and in a smoke filled casino, it is always at my expense.

Although a tad bit farther, Toledo is also smoke free and does have much better VP offerings.case wrote: ↑Mon Feb 04, 2019 7:41 pmLast week we were in Gulfport Miss and found a new casino called Beach Casino. All casinos in Colorado are non smoking. The two big casinos in Florida now have separate non smoking casinos. Some day the smoking casino will be a tiny room off a corner somewhere. They will give everyone a gas mask and pump tobacco fumes into them. The EMTs will wait outside. They won't have to wait long.

If it passes in its current format, the black market will be huge with people over 30 buying for those under 30. Then in 5 years, the mob will just take over supplying the smokes at inflated prices once the sale is entirely banned. I hate smoke, but I also don’t like big brother controling every aspect of our lives.

I know they claim cigars are better because one doesn't inhale them, but is second hand cigar smoke healthier than cigarette smoke?

Think of the possible revenue the hundred year olds will make.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 9:44 amIf it passes in its current format, the black market will be huge with people over 30 buying for those under 30. I don't know if it's healthier or not, but it sure stinks more.
