THIS IS A SUBJECT THAT HAS BEEN DISCUSSED AMONG FRIENDS, BUT WAS LOOKING FOR AN EXPANDED VIEW POINT. HAS ANYBODY ELSE NOTICED WHEN PLAYING V.P. YOU CAN BE WINNING AND THEN TAKE A MEAL BREAK AND COME BACK AND NOT HIT A THING OR VICE VERSA.
ALSO HAVE NOTICED, AND THIS GOES BOTH WAY'S, THAT CAN BE PLAYING ALONG WITH SOME SUCCESS AND THE BETTER HALF SHOW'S UP AND IT SEEM'S TO GO ALL DOWN HILL FROM THAT POINT ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE DONE PLAYING AND OUT OF MOOLAH.
BEST PAY SCALE'S ASIDE, THESE THING JUST SEEM TO HAPPEN.
Have you ever noticed (change in luck)

Yep. I try not to take a meal break if I am winning and if the wife goes with me to play I just try to have fun and let her win and call it a short day with no expectations for myself of serious play.
I find life works better that way.

It's because the meal gave you gas and you are more prone to mistakes. Sometimes the presence of a wife can cause gas too.

I've had both good and back luck with my better half stopping by. Sometimes I hit right when she leaves and other times I've hit just as she arrived. However, if I have been lucky before a meal I am in BIG trouble. It is almost a joke between my wife and myself as we almost always see a big change right after eating.

One thing the wife and I have is an uncanny knack of showing up just as one or the other is getting a hand pay. Dibs!

Having just returned from a week in Vegas I would like to add a hot/cold story. I met up with shadowman and eduardo on the 13th. to help welcome eduardo to vegas. I had been there since the 10th., and was having so-so luck up to that point. I watched eduardo play some STP deuces and went with them to a different bank of machines to play single line deuces. I don't usually play deuces, so I plugged in my usual ddb .25 max bet and drew 4A's on my first play. I got kind of a weird feeling, and said good-bye to the guys and headed over to the silverton where the games are full pay, 10/6 ddb,9/5 deuces, etc. My first session there at silverton netted me $500 and I could do no wrong. I raised my bet to max bet $ and ended the session 3k +. I was starting to make draw errors so I called it a day at 4pm and headed back my roost. The next day (14th.) I went back to the scene of my victories , and It was over!! From then on ( thru the 16th.) I hit nothing. 5 different casinos, 10 dirrerent games, from $ to penny, I was cold. I have thought back to that day(13th.) and tried to figure out what was going on to promote such a good run. The only answer I have is ..... EDUARDO, IT WAS YOU!!! Hoochie mama

Hoochie Mama!!!!! Glad your luck was so fantastic after meeting up. It was great to meet you. From now on I should maybe charge $100 or 25% to sit by me. That will feed my bankroll.
Up 3K that session? That's amazing.
If you read my trip report you will see that things got crazy for me after that but I never had your luck. My luck all rubbed off on you. Came very close with draws on 3 deuces and some on multipliers but never got the hit I needed for my silly goal. I did get ahead and had enough good hits to play a long long time. I had an amazing time though and I'm glad you and shadowman were both there to introduce me to it all.
So, after getting up 3K that session and then going cold, how did you fare over all?

I just finished my recap on the notes I kept for the trip. Here it is, for good or bad.
started on Sat. 11/10 noon. trip bankroll for wagers only ,$350.00
ended on Fri. 11/16 4pm. In pocket take home , $90.00
Total bets made $3432 Total bets won $3188.
Net loss of $244.00
I played on average of 4 hours a day, x 7= 28 hrs.
I play at a 500 hand/hr. average rate = 14000 hands.
My best hit was 4 deuces on DW fp at .25 max bet.
Had many many quads, including ,2s,3s, 4s, and As, but no kickers. I'm going to have to re- evaluate my thinking on not keeping kickers on the draw I'm glad you had fun, as did I.
My overall take on the trip is that you are there to win. And you bet as long as you can as much as you can within your own parameters. I was thrilled to have had the opportunity to bet what I did and fly home w
ith enough money to get the car out of long term parking. I saw royals, ( one was a sequential for $8700), a progressive for 17k, etc.
Icame home tired, but not broke. BY the way, the ladies that were wanting you to get lucky were looking for you after you left the Hilton!
It was great meeting you and shadow, maybe we can do it again soon.
And I mean soon, I'm 70 you know.
