pop up boxes and virus blocked

I keep getting pop up boxes when I reach the site (on my laptop, not on my Ipad). This happens when I reach VP and before I sign in. My virus blocker has notified me that it has blocked malware. I do think it is something that you 1) need to be aware of and 2) need to try to stop.
