going for the 3 card hold?

Sorry for the confusion. Whenever you go against the computer calculated strategy, there is a cost to pay. I think it's OK to consider that cost in your decision making process since you are the one who is paying that price.

You got lucky. Don't get used to this strategy!

some how i think you knew i was talking about, ace ten and jack ten are both components of the royal however 1 is not correct hold

and you can only guess which 2 were my 2nd royal flush.

its just got me thinking how much damage of incorrect plays affect my outcome i can only imagine the experts telling me i did wrong with a 1,000 payout happening to me lol

Makes for a great story, of course.

About 3-4 years ago I was walking around the Tampa Casino. It was more about exercise than anything else. I happened to walk by the high limit room. I found the video poker machines and sat down next to a classy looking lady. She was playing a $5 game and she didn't look happy. I selected the $5 deuces wild game, put in a $20 and started playing single coin. Two hands in I hit a quad deuce for $1,000 and the bell started to ring. I was very happy with this result. The lady looked over and said to me "Real players play to win!". I smiled at her, got up and cashed my ticket. I walked by her counting out 10 hundred dollars bills.

I'm not telling this story to promote single coin play. In video poker anything that can happen will happen. There are no "errors" if they result in a jackpot. Your losses will overtake your wins if you make them all the time.

thanks steve A10 at least make your post correct in that it was not the correct hold.

Ah, that makes more sense now. And yeah that will cost you a bit of course long term. About 2.78 cents per occurrence at max quarters on a 7/5 game. But maybe that hold is worth the extra excitement to you.

My white whale is to get a Royal holding AT while it's still an optimal hold. I've seen about 10 pics of royals holding AT suited on the internet and NONE of them have been the optimal hold.

i was very very tempted to play CS but glad i didn't manage to capture the 4 2s, early in with a 50$ bill
and my wife got her royal with a 47$ bankroll overall it was a good night

i kinda want to try CS but on dollar denomination or higher, so if i do catch something its not a cruddy price but something i can go home with

thanks, i beg her to go to ac, but she hates the 2.5 hr each way.
shes gotten 2 royals and five jokers off 1 machine in trop out of 8 trips and me nothing
five joker poker maybe the best VP game in AC but she rather play that tdb

imo only real video poker games are 9/6 fpdw and maybe five joker poker the rest video poker feels more like slots including bonus poker
