What was the most free play you ever received?

The MGM had a contest where you picked all the NFL games for slot cash. I picked them but never really went 10 for 10 in any week. Most I got was 6 or 7 of 10 games (probably more than 10 games a weekend but just using it as an example). There was even some weeks where I didn't make it to the casino to register my picks. Well, after the NFL season, I had $125 slot cash waiting for me.

When I checked in, the screen didn't even tell me I had won $125 because of the NFL games. Just that I had "won" 125. Didn't ask/don't tell, lol.

Should have split that $125 over several trips but I used it all up in one session. Was afraid that MGM made a mistake and would take away when I returned. So, I used it all up. No royal, but i did get most if not all the 125 back in cash.

$400 at Wynn (had to buy 3 nights hotel at $129 per night, this was around 10 years ago), $450 twice at Rampart which both included 2 nights in a suite (in 2013), and $500 at Orleans (in 2015).

This year I got Spring and Summer offers for $1000 free play (per trip) + $200 F&B (per day) at the Wynn. They are letting me use them on the same trip as long as I space them apart by more than 72 hours so I booked it and will be at the Palazzo ($175 free play) in between. They had previously sent a Winter offer for the same amount and I made a $2000 profit off of it playing VP.

There must be a lot more going on other than casinos simply calculating your expected loss because my offers are all over the place. I could gamble similar amounts and get $0 free play at the D downtown but $110 at Golden Nugget, only $25 at a Caesars property, $75 at a Boyd property, $75 at an MGM/Mirage property, $175 at Venetian/Palazzo, $250 at a Station casino and now $1000 multiple times at the Wynn. My gambling buddy and I have long wondered how these places determine what offers to send.

After threatening it in my mind for years, I finally swore off the Caesars properties after dropping thousands in Hammond and only getting a comp room offer. It is super easy to get free rooms from Caesars but they seem to greatly prefer gift giveaways and tournaments instead of offering free play. Evidently a lot of people prefer that?

Yes. The CET Diamond people I see on a near weekly basis are thrilled to death over their freebie gifts. Just keep feeding the beast.

Golden Nugget Lake Charles has incredible free play. Often the nightly draw is $1,500 or $2,000 every 30 minutes from 6:00 -12:00. Back in the fall our daughter Carrie, who plays big bank rolls,(the more points you earn during draw time the more chances you get) texted that she had been drawn for $2k around 7:00, at 8:30 she was redrawn for another $2000. At 12:00 she won the big draw for $10K as well. She had 7 days to play. This past weekend she was drawn twice for $1,500 each time.

Personally, my biggest free play was at GNLC as well. Back in January, I started play early in the afternoon and caught an early $2 draw around 7:30. Played it through and went to dinner. Sweet C and I decided to head home, got to the car and reconsidered. Twenty minutes after we returned my name was recalled for another $2K. Sweet C once caught a $1K draw at Coushatta.

Additionally, GNLC offers "weekend free play" based on your weekly play and the occupancy of the casino in addition to your weekly free play. During the slow months like January and February (slow months for most casinos) they give the biggest weekend freeplay. My biggest was $240 per night for a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in January. This past weekend it was $160 per night Thursday-Sunday in addition to my weekly free play. Sadly, all free play must be on slots.

Right now, between my 2 local casinos, I get about $150 per week. $150 is more than enough to cover my theoretical losses for quite a bit of play. But as a high variance game player for mostly $1, my actual losses can be many times $150/hour. But still....

I do have to stop by nearly every day to pick it up though - not a big deal as I drive right past them every day. I often just spin it off, pocket whatever I get and go home. It is nice to always have FP to pick up as I never need my debit card for gas, breakfast, liquor store ect.

After a month or two of FP hit and run, the FP starts to dry up. At one of my casinos, mailers seem based solely on coin-in - in other words, the mail is predictable. At the other one they seem to strongly base mailers on if you are winning or losing. I've had stretches where I lost badly and they give a lot, or hot streaks where they darn near no-mail me. All for similar amounts of play. I dumped badly there about a month ago, and sure enough, my mailers for this month are good.
