Should Everyone Always Play Max Coins?

The lighter side... playing for entertainment, less concerned about "the math."

I used to believe in simulations on blackjack and video poker, and what i mean believe in them id assume i would have very close results from the best of the best out come to the worst case scenarios.
simulations can not tell your gonna blow through 500$ bankroll in 4hr on a 99.69% game nor can they tell your gonna hit 2 royals within 40min of each other no sir thats something your gonna have to go down to the casino and unchart the future yourself (assuming your rich enough to gamble) someone posted there atlantic city trip and someone else posted in comments saying bet max bet next time and the player responded with "1.25 is a lot of money" so i guess he knew what he was in for when he was betting small you win small bet big you win big its as simple as that

Why talk about this issue at all? The math says it's true. The experts confirm it. So what's the problem here?

We have dozens of books and videos devoted to beating the casinos. We have an entire Strategy Forum where members can ask experts questions about Advantage Play. After all these years, the concept of positive games, perfect play and adequate bankroll is well known to most of us. New members come to this forum to learn and become better players. We assume those players apply what they learn.

These players take the expert advice and information to their home casino games. What they commonly find are 97% games. The expert told them not to play these games. They want to play, so they wrongly assume the same math that makes a profit for the expert will make money for them too. In time they discover betting more or bigger in a negative video poker game increases their losses. Some players get angry with the casino believing the games are rigged. A few get mad at the experts. Most keep playing.

This causes a quandary. Do they go home, save money by playing small or pay for their jackpots? I am not trying to convert players to single coin play or CS. I play max coins the majority of the time myself. I am well aware that I am paying for jackpots. What I want players to know is the basic math of playing negative video poker games so they can decide for themselves.

We don't need a computer simulation or two test games to determine who wins my challenge. Using Video Poker for Winners software, I set the game on auto play and test it myself. Most people would be surprised to find out how much they can pay in a 97% game to see a $1,000 royal flush. As long as you understand these facts, you can make an informed decision. "Don't play these games" is not enough information.

Steve, my AC opinion changes like the wind. Bally's $1K March RF. Caesars $250 SF last week, after Bally's -$100 and dollar play desperation. Determined to save and catch a wave.

I find it puzzling that we seem to have so many members left who are dedicated to playing video poker for profit. That must be because we have a large number of Vegas players? I wish them well. The games I see in my travels today are nowhere near positive. The video poker I see is about limiting damage while gaining as much enjoyment from the game as possible.

If you play nickel games and you are happy, Great. If it takes $5 games to get you excited, it's your money. I think everyone should do what they want with their own money. I also believe they should be free to talk about it on this forum without being trolled.

It's not so much the subject that concerns me, it's the ability to discuss it openly.

Who? JStark? billryan? Bob when he bothers to post?

Who else plays for profit here that posts regularly?

Now sometimes I play positive games, but if I'm on vacation in Vegas or Tunica, I'm usually not unless the situation presents itself without much effort. Glad one did last month.

Again, I'm NOT in Vegas and nowhere near it. And I find PLENTY of greater than 100%+ opportunities. Not just VP, but slots and other games as well. That's not to say I won't pass a short amount of time on a negative game. The triple royal from deuces wild spin poker I posted a few weeks ago is proof of this. This is usually because im just waiting on something juicy. But those times on those games are very very short. I won't sit for hours on end making these casino owners rich.

Would you care to tell us what they are? No need to give details, just the math. Many of us have never seen one.

I gave you one and vman showed you one. The rest, no, I will not expose them. I will say this though. No players card benefits are needed.

The only one I ever heard of was vulturing Ultimate X multipliers. If that's what it takes to win, I'll stick with Deuces Wild and take my chances. That is pretty much what I expected. Are there any honest positive games that you can enjoy for a day?

Give the man a fish, you feed him for the day. Teach him to fish and he'll sit around drinking beer all day.
