The problem with "Tax the Rich" schemes is everyone ends up being classified as rich. In 1913 when income tax was implemented, no one cared as only the rich were supposed to pay it. Think about that next April.

The American system works because you have the ability to control your future. You can start out with nothing and end up a millionaire. Hard work pays off. Progressives think anyone who has wealth either stole it or got lucky. This makes them feel better about taking it away. There aren't enough rich people to pay all the bills, so we charge it on our national credit card. Right now our balance is $22 Trillion dollars. Some day that bill is going to come due. The IRS knows the value of all our IRAs and investments. With a stroke of the pen, they can tax it away or reduce your social security if they think you have too much.
