Jumping around, making wacky bets up and down, not following perfect strategy, are all examples of why we many times fail when playing for real. The most incredible example of this happened to me yesterday. I already realize in advance that the RNG would have a different result if I had done something differently. Anyway, this is what happened..... I lost a few hundred playing quarters and dollars the correct way at Mohegan. The next day, The Mrs. and I took the short ride to Foxwoods to claim my cash reward by drawing from a bin. Of course I picked the smallest one a ten dollar bill. On either side of me the patrons drew 50 and 100. Determined to turn the ten into 20 and quit, I played a 96 percent nickel spin poker deuces wild game betting 7 lines at 1 per line or 35 cents a pop. Sure enough, on my next to the last play on that ten dollar bill I was dealt 4 to a Royal. It connected on 3 lines or 750 nickels. Kiss 3 grand goodbye the normal way I would have played it. Well I went home with much more than the original ten, but that’s not what I know woulda coulda shoulda. I didn’t have the heart to snap a photo. And crazy as it sounds, that free 200 bucks felt like a pot of gold. The machine kept hitting wild Royals, 5 of a kinds, and straight flushes. I bailed when the ten got up to 200.

Why do you think "we" should be trying to teach anyone anything. Think how much smoother this forum would be if people didn't try to "educate people" and others didn't have to attempt and correct the incorrect information .

Billy, I am not educating anyone. This is a video poker forum. I talk about what happens when I play the game. We have enough video poker experts to last us 10 lifetimes. If you're so good at VP why don't you play against me on this website? I think you're all talk.

Let's get back to the subject at hand. After years of playing video poker in real casinos, I have determined I am better off financially if I play one game at one denomination and stay there. Why do we find this so difficult to do?

Secondly, notice how the same old same old continues to seek out YOUR threads just to demean you?

Math is not the problem. Math is perfect. The problem with gamblers is they believe math only applies to losers. Anyone can beat the casino if they only play 100% games that don't exist. No one runs out of money if another 10,000 coins magically appears when your bankroll is gone.

What we should be teaching players is that playing video poker today costs money. We should talk about ways to limit the cost of playing the games we have. That is a lot harder than saying "Don't play negative VP games". Does anyone seriously think that keeps people from doing it?

I play video poker on this website. I also play in real casinos with real money. I can beat this casino because I can play 100% games and my total cost is $8.95 a month. I can't beat my local casino and neither can anyone else.

I can and have beaten your home casino. All I need is less than $100. You just refuse to be patient and wait.

At first, I was going to say, emphatically, yes. But, thinking it over a bit, I would say that if the second best game was not far behind the best one, and was more fun to play, I would likely play it at least part of the time.
