I find it difficult to set firm rules about what I'm going to do on any given day. It's all entertainment to me, so whatever happens doesn't last long. Second guessing myself after the fact doesn't help much. Years ago, I traveled a lot for business. Whenever I would drive by a casino, I would run in and play $200-$300 in dollar DDB and leave with any win. I won a lot of money. I lost more than I won. Either way, it wasn't going to hurt me. These days I live on my investments and I don't know how long they will need to last. This makes me frugal and I tend to stick with max coin quarters.

When you get over 70, you never know what you are going to wake up to. I went to the doctor for my annual checkup recently. They told me I could live another 30 years. If some disease doesn't kill me, I could run off the road. You never know. This gives me a different attitude than a young person. I honestly don't care about long term.

I do think I would be better off if I never took any other pot shot. However, I would miss the anticipation and the fun of cashing a big ticket. Long term, I pay for my fun. Given the conditions in today's casinos, I don't see much difference in how I play. I assume I'm going to lose. When I don't it's a surprise. If I worried about the cost, I would stay on this website for $8.95 a month.

I normally don't go outside of my VP game schedule. 9/5 Super Double Bonus or 9/6 JOB multi strikes. I believe in playing the best games available and learning them well. Once after hitting a royal on SDB, I had $100 left in the machine and decided to put it in the Joker Triple Play that has the Progressive for dealt 5 aces. I think it was close to 100k at that time. A few hands in I was dealt 4 aces, damn that was close. Didn't connect on any line, but a few hands later was dealt 5 Kings on the top line for $1,000. Cashed out.

If you lost more than you won, then you never won "a lot of money." In fact, you never won at all. This is exactly how recreational players delude themselves.

hey car , I may be at borgota for the 10x day. its only for 8 hours so I may bring a consortium to play quite high and play enough hands to have a reasonable chance for royal.i figure 4 of us playing over 1000 hands per hour will give us a desant chance.5k min.each on job 3 play so we have 20k bank. we have .5% apx on each spin but as u know no royal for 8 hrs means minus 2.5 % the royal being 2% of the return at full pay job ! no royal= a loooong ride home .!!

Correction......we all win money. We just give it back. Phil didn’t say he won money at end of the day. I know he was referring to finite points in time. Everyone says when they get a good hand or have a good run I won this or I won that..We usually follow it up with ........but then¥€*%#*!,?,#}€?€ and so forth.

Who's deluding who? Most of us aren't fool enough to believe we can beat today's casino games in the first place. My personal stack of video poker books is pretty high. All of those books say the same thing, "Only play games that don't exist where I play." They tell me if I am going to play the games I have, I will lose. Fair enough. My choice is to stay home or play with money I can afford to lose. How I choose to lose it is nobody's business but my own.

An even longer ride home on quadless days of 6 to 8 hours. Good luck if you guys go. Been there done that, but many times teamwork with a big bankroll can yield a great ending.

Beating a casino with a hundred bucks day in and day out is next to impossible unless by beating a casino you mean finding a penny poker machine and quitting when you are one cent ahead. If that were true, casinos wouldn’t even exist.

Beating most of today's casino games is pure fantasy. At the moment, my single line bankroll on this website is 50,000 coins. It grew that large by playing a near 100% game and being lucky. I don't claim to have super human skills or to be more intelligent than anyone else on this website. I'm a 72 year old player that wears glasses so I can see the screen. Anyone with any skill at all can play 100% games and make a profit. All it takes is a little luck.

The skill in being an Advantage Player is finding those opportunities. If you paid me a million dollars to find and play a video poker game in a Florida casino with a long term player advantage, I couldn't do it. If you want to learn how to profit from video poker go to the Strategy Forum and ask the expert. That's what he's there for. The Recreational forum is for players who play games without an edge because those are the only games they have to play.
