are you really surprised considering the political party that dominates your state? as someone who benefits from the military putting their lives on the line for me/my family/my country, i am grateful for this father and son and also your son's service. thank you!
now that the state is no longer getting a federal subsidy on outrageous property taxes, the wealthier residents are moving out of nj, ny and ill. those who are unable or cannot afford to leave, will end up footing the bill.

Notes while NJ is definitely a Blue state my town is pure Red, which is why we’re so infuriated by the actions of the principle and superintendent.

Jeter, Didn't know you lived in Point. My office is in Manasquan. Jeter is right about this part of the state. Monmouth and Ocean Counties are very republican and well run, especially fiscally compared to the rest of the statejetermacaw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 11:11 amNotes while NJ is definitely a Blue state my town is pure Red, which is why we’re so infuriated by the actions of the principle and superintendent.

jeter, my guess is that this is only the beginning. you are surrounded by dems. once the move is made toward liberal trends, it often keeps progressing. your superintendent and his/her minions spend their time with and are influenced by fellow dems throughout the state.
conservatives typically do not take to the streets, do not protest, riot and destroy property, to defend their positions. they move, they take their wealth, tax dollars with them. that is why the state budgets of ny, nj, ill and others are under severe pressure. i am originally from western n.y., have many friends there. it is a very religious place and many of the citizens are flabbergasted by the new state laws on abortion. but, they feel there is little they can do. they are simply out voted.
maybe it will be different this time, for your sake, i hope so.

Murphy just caved on the millionaires tax because other democrats wouldn't support it. Although it doesn't affect me, they understand that it would accelerate the wealthy exodus from the state. There has to be a better way.

unfortunately, re-electing trump will not help the minority of conservatives in places like NJ.
some things i just cannot figure out. more than 30 years ago, we moved from NY to NC. better weather, better economy, lower taxes, less regs were the reasons. we were not alone. hundreds of thousands, if not millions, mostly from liberal northern states, did the same and for the same reasons. but, when many of them got there, they voted in pols that promised them 'more' stuff, courtesy the government. as a result, taxes increase, more regs, and fewer companies come to set up shop and hire. the economy of the state suffered.
don't folks understand there is a direct relationship between asking/getting more stuff and taxes rising, and companies finding the state less attractive?
now, we have settled in FL, i can only hope there are enough smart seniors to understand the fallacy that there is actually free stuff.

The 2020 election is shaping up as a referendum on socialism vs capitalism. How will the battleground states go? I think we know the answer.
