progressive policing mission accomplished!. watching the video of big apple police having buckets of water (thankfully, it was only water) poured on them, as they did their job. it had to warm the hearts of those progressives who hate the cops and put in policies that restrict their ability to do their job. surely, NYC will be a safer place going forward. this is what years of liberal (de blasio) management will get you.
just watch, cops will be slower to react in the future. crime will rise. and, those same progressives will blame the cops.
the police run toward trouble while the public run away from it.
LA, san fran, chicago, portland, detroit, baltimore .....murder, antifa, drug epidemics, homelessness, feces, public health diseases, cops not allowed to do their job...all cities run by progressives. this could be coming your way, be afraid.

Shameful. This has to be one of the toughest times to be a police officer. Already one of the most difficult jobs out there and now you have all this anti-police sentiment going around. Everyone be sure to express your appreciation when you see them around.

When DiB got elected, all the usual suspects all proclaimed the end of NYC. Four years later, crime was down and he cruised to re-election. Here is a hint- the sky still isn't falling and the barbarians are not yet at the gate.

in some of these progressive cities, it's hard to see the beauty when one has to step over people sleeping on the sidewalks, avoid stepping in human feces, avoid a growing rat population, gunfire, masked terrorists group, drug needles, etc.

Many years ago, my next door neighbor was a local police detective. Attempting to make an arrest, he was slashed by a local gang memberwith a rap sheet as long as a roll of toilet paper from ear to ear. He survived. He was the best, most considerate family man of a neighbor I ever had. The crook was out on no time to continue with his ways. At the time, my neighbor had 2 little ones and a wife every bit as good a neighbor and friendly as her husband. He eventually took early retirement, became a computer specialist, and they moved to Florida. I was sorry to see him them go and we still stay in touch from time to time. The point I am making is today there are almost no consequences for repeat bad behavior. I have long been an advocate for a national prison lottery. Build them in the middle of nowhere and staff with lottery funds and whatever else is needed.

Awful ! It looked like they were told to stand down. I don't get it - Why didn't those two call for help and crowd control? And the one that got hit with the pail - did he have someone in cuffs there ? Is that why he didn't react?

this is what happens with progressive policies (and the media having their back), the cops feeling no one has their back and elected officials telling them to stand down. can you imagine if one of those assaulted cops had fought back. the left would have said, it was only water. let this continue...anarchy will follow. unbelievable!
remember ferguson...hands up, all those congressional DEMS standing in front of the capital, arms raised. it was all a lie. remember baltimore, cops told to back off, and the entire area, where looting was widespread (the cvs drugstore), buildings burned, mob rule. remember the school kids from kentucky, you were told they were insulting to an indian guy, who said he served in NAM..all a lie. how about jussie smollett, another lie. the false stories are numerous.

They did exactly what they were trained to do. Not respond in anger and escalate the situation. They observed the crowd and yesterday most of them were arrested. Some were turned in by neighbors, some were I'd by video.
Police should never escalate a situation. There is always tomorrow.
I'm sure some chickenhawks would want them to have started shooting the crowd but luckily sane heads prevailed. A NYPD cop is one of 40,000. You don't endanger yourself or bystanders when no one's life is in danger. You contain the situation as best you can and counter when you have massive numerical superiority. Just like a wildfire. Exactly what they did.
