Wild, I must write “Mover” in Sharpie inside my wrist. Otherwise it’s too much of a loss to recover from.

Think about this. Assuming all hands are independent. If you move, no harm is done. If you don't, same thing. If moving increases your confidence, that's not bad either. As long as you don't do something that hurts your results, go for it.

Hot and cold machines exist. They are only hot or cold one hand at a time. Unfortunately, you only know if the machine is hot or cold until that hand is over.

I admit moving machines makes you feel better. It does for me. It works about the same as when it doesn't.
All machines are both hot and cold. It is because machines use a RNG.

Agreed. But I think it’s cyclical in nature. You can damn well tell when they have put the clamp on.

Video poker machines are "cyclical in nature". The problem is you can't tell what cycle they're on until it's over.

Players who use the max coin button on every hand. I can tolerate cigarette smoke if it's not blowing in my face. Cigar smokers are among the most inconsiderate people on the planet. Button slappers are annoying, but at least they seem to be on a mission. Casino employees that hang around and conduct long bull sessions next to my machine. Players who have lengthy conversions loud enough for everyone to hear. Players who play while they talk on their cell phone. Did I miss anyone?

If you are playing on a machine and casino workers are nearby conducting "long bull sessions," why don't you politely ask THEM to move? Why would YOU leave a machine just for that reason? Unless you are looking for a reason to move.

I have done this in the past by just saying something like: "Excuse me, I'm trying to concentrate on my game. Would you mind taking your conversation elsewhere so I can better concentrate? Thanks."

That usually does the trick for me.

By the way Phil, I heard the Warden who runs the vp prison system only provides 6/5 class 2 machines. I was wondering how you did playing them.

I don't play class II video poker. It's like watching paint dry.
