Good points on a subject that seems to affect us all.

From my host feedback i was told that they don't look at win-loss. I find that hard to believe but those were his words.

Rather the computer tracks each session and averages short and long. The affect is to penalize hit&run, frequent moving, big hit and git, whatever you want to call it.

Also moves for bad machines, intolerable smoke or drunks, even hitting a hand pay on your first hand because all of these, and many others, cause your card to be pulled and result in down-grading your average play and thus your comps.

No old casino hand would consider dissing Olds like Mohegan has.
Or holding my premium play to 25% of top despite 2.5M coin-in last year.
Part of it must bean-counter mentality trumping common sense.
Part of it the general VP down hill slide.

The only thing i KNOW for sure is that i will not play the game their way!!!
I will not hold still while they grind away at my wallet.
I move when i feel like it, i hit&run, and i ***** them out every chance i get.
The only concession i make is when i feel like backing off i play quarters on my wifes card.

Each and every one of us should learn as much as we can about what is happening,Fight it where we can, and let them know were on to their game.

Olds voted with his feet, good move. If i had a nearby option with the ton of good machines i have now i would do the same!

Why should it really matter how often you switch if the coin in is still substantial? I have AC options up the wazoo. I’ll be grinding away at the quarter friendly casinos and treading very lightly at the death by dollar casinos. Basically, I’ll start at a quarter place and keeps all funds in their TITO firm until returning to leave town. Hasta la vista, shady.

That is my question, as well.

It matters because the computer program used to rate players for comps averages multiple short sessions with your longer sessions and rates your play very low.

Maybe at quarter play with $25 a month free play, it doesn't matter , but the difference between $700 a month and $3500 a month can determine if my game is positive or negative EV.
It is mystery to me why this is so hard to understand. There are plenty of $1-$5-$10-$25 players out there. They face the same problem because, as i understand, this rating program is widely used.

Can anyone else out there see this point ? I know Wildman is in similar situation because he moves a lot.

Okay, that’s an excellent explanation. Basically the meek sitting duck martyrs shall inherit the free play. I can’t afford to hang around for that. Good to see that great minds think alike on this point!

I thought a session would be a gaming day of play. Not how long you play at one machine. Coin on is coin in. It shouldn’t matter whereor how many machines. Anyway, as punishment, I hit and run now at Mohegan Sun. It is on my way to Foxwoods. In the winter however, that extra 20 minute drive is a bummer. I’m posting separately how I hit and ran yesterday

It’s apparently a granular coin in analysis. Weed out the hit and run, hit and hit crowd. The reality is that victimization is almost as certain on the next machine.

To be honest, I had never heard of that way of rating play. I have always thought in terms of total play for the day.

You're saying that ten sessions of $2000 coinin each would be rated considerably less than one of $20000?

That’s the way I read it too. I guess that is why frequent flyers like myself get punished for playing the same coin in. If I ran a casino, I would never do that. Those like myself who just like to play regularly, will naturally over time if they can afford it almost always move up in denomination. I started with pennies nearly 40 years ago. Then nickels, dimes, quarters, to dollars. That of course means leaving more money on the table for the house. I will never understand their logic. I hate to even use the word when describing that way of thinking. Now of course being in my 70’s I may start backing down in denomination.
