GN 9/5 Trip
Two day trip to GN for the double daily free play money Thursday and Friday. Our incredible host booked us into a beautiful top floor corner suite overlooking the golf course and part of the pool. Played my free play first and caught a nice $500 hand on a $ slot machine (free play $ can only be used on slots). Moving to VP the hits just weren't coming as our timing was off early. We continued to go through the bankroll and most of the spare bankroll. After a wonderful late dinner at Salt Grass Sweet C headed up early since she hadn't been feeling well earlier in the day. I started with our last spare two hundred and after finding my timing cashed out a $1K ticket. Starting over again and catching just a good run I cashed out another $1K ticket. I then played about an hour on Sweet C's card to build up her points since she had gone up early and headed up to the room to be with Sweet C. Highlight of the day. Saw this beauty (McLaren) at L'auBerge du Lac as I went over (next door to GN) to check out any changes.
Friday, enjoyed a nice hour at the pool, a good lunch and then early evening headed down to the slots for our free play. Got our money from the slots and then to VP. The hits continued to evade us as we played multiple games and machines. Called it an early night since we had to come home early Saturday. The law of averages caught up with us and we knew it would eventually balance out.-

Hope you guys keep your health as well as your attitudes. I really like that shade of blue. Years ago, I had a 1990 Celica Gt. Kept it many miles, many casino trips, and when the paint got a bit shabby, I had it painted that color blue. I never had a problem with the drivetrain. I think most folks say that about their Toyotas. My Mrs still has her baby blue 92 Celica. It was her first new car. I have a red 91 Celica in the garage. Anyway, LL. We all know vp is like a roller coaster or a big sine curve tilted a bit downward. LL....Do you still have your slide rule from school? I have mine still in the original leather case. Feel better Sweet C!!

I don't know if LL has his or not, but I do know that I still have mine, and still with its original leather case.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:01 pm.Do you still have your slide rule from school? I have mine still in the original leather case.

Balance out? $2,500 worth of hits should make it a rather positive trip! I’m seeking that very same kind of balance on my trips.

No idea where the slide rule went. I did have 2 abacuses, one of which my grandfather made. Not sure if my son has them or they got lost when I moved.onemoretry wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 7:25 amI don't know if LL has his or not, but I do know that I still have mine, and still with its original leather case.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:01 pm.Do you still have your slide rule from school? Per the Merriam Webster dictionary, either abacusi or abacuses is correct. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/abacus

Yes, guys I still have my old high school slide rule with the leather case. It was my father's and he gave it to me when I was in HS. Taught me how to use it and calculate. Brings back an additional HS memory. I wish I had remember using it back a few months ago for our 50th reunion. That would have brought a few laughs. I also remember seeing an abacus used in elementary school but I don't remember the situation. Of course back then we had to memorize our math facts. Spent many a long bus trip home from school practicing my multiplication/division facts. Sometimes, when I'm in an upper grade class doing my student teacher's observations and their studying multiplication I'll challenge the kids to the old flash card drill. Ice cream for the class if they can beat me!
