After eleven years alternating between Catholic schools and the Army educational system, I was shocked how unprepared my fellow Seniors were when I transferred to what was supposed to be a top Long Island high school. I'd have been better off skipping my senior year and starting college early. We talked about putting me in college in January, but I'd just turned 16 and my Mom thought I was too young. College was rough at 17, I doubt I'd have handled it a year earlier.
