companies moving out of nyc

Post by notes1 »

carl icahn (worth $17b) has joined an ever increasing club of companies, who are/have moved out of nyc, to lower tax states, such as florida and tenn. in palm county, fl alone, more than 70 financial firms have relocated and more than 121 are in the pipeline for nashville. over the last year, more than 10,000 new jobs were relocated to nashville.

states without state income tax, the lower allowable property tax deduction and better weather are among the reasons most often given.

meanwhile, states such as ny and conn are facing huge tax shortfalls.

Poor NYC. No one goes there any more. It's too crowded.

i see you still haven't sought mental illness help yet.

NYS and ILL were the two states with the largest net losers of population. CONN was included in the next 5 largest losers of citizens. even the ny govenor stated the state's tax problem was 'as serious as a heart attack'.

when NYC losses thousands of financial jobs, it is not like they lost people who were working at a department store. many financial workers earn well above average income, and that loss of taxable income is one of the reasons for state tax shortfalls. and, no place in america, is more dependent on those high taxable incomes, that the financial industry produces, than the big apple.

Notes,i am sure you have observed how the troll ignored the fact that NYC and the entire state is losing population. He cannot see the obvious. Liberal taxation and public policy are driving people away!!
California, Illinois,New Jersey and other liberal ruined states are on similar collision courses to bankruptcy and are losing tax payer base as well.
However after these disasters the libs will blame it on Republicans for not helping throw enough money down the rat holes just as they did with their failed war on poverty and great society disasters!!
BTW treatment for his condition? No such thing!!

tech 58, california is not in as much trouble as ny, ill, conn, nj. it has a beautiful location, next to the ocean, great weather and silicon valley. the other states don't have the weather, the location or the tech industry. nyc is very dependent upon the financial industry, and the high paying jobs that pay a lot of taxes. even in this good economy, those states are having trouble. just wait until the next inevitable economic downturn, many firms will start looking elsewhere. these states are in trouble.

conservatives need to keep just one thing in mind, this all about power. the libs want to control as much of our lives as possible and they need power to do so. and, power comes from votes. they cannot sell their vision to much of america, so they need to appeal to those who are dependent and if there are not enough, import more needy people. thus, open borders. that is their plan.

the 'troll' as you call him is nothing more than a trump hater. doesn't matter about the accomplishments, his mind is made up. just like so many i have met over the years from nyc, they think they know everything. i wish everyone from nyc and nj, would do the rest of us a favor, stay where you are.

Bill, you moved out of NY because it was too expensive. States like NY, NJ and Coon. are losing billions of dollars of wealth and re[lacing it with billions of dollars of debt.

NY is not a good place to retire in. No one disputes that. It's also a great place to make money in, and raise a family. Old people have been leaving NY for Florida for at least 60 years. Wishful thinking by chicken little doesn't mean the sky is falling.

Sure the NYC suburbs are still a good place to raise kids, but the City proper?

I'm curious how they managed to manipulate the Regents scores. Unless the administration somehow cheated for the students, I don't see the big deal.IF they cheated, throw them in jail and take their pensions.
Holy Cross had, and still has, a no fail policy. If you can't.keep up, you leave.
