Favorite Vegas Casinos

Post by clwn2 »

Again, I am looking for a response from some of the more experienced players in Vegas.  I am a long time customer of Fiesta Rancho but I am looking for a new haunt.  I think there are probably better all around casinos in Vegas for the knowledgable Video Poker player.  Sams Town has good ratings for locals casino, video poker and slot club.  I wanted a first hand account from Vegas residents of Sams Town(if they go there) or what their favorite casino is and why.  I get out to Vegas 3-4 times a year and want to spend it wisely.                    Thanks

Las Vegas residents get "locals" mailers from Sam's Town. That includes multipliers, bounceback cash and gifts. They get very little in terms of comps. OTOH, "non-locals" tend to get offers for free rooms, meals, free play, etc.

With this in mind I'm not sure a "first hand account" from Las Vegas residents would be very useful to you. I play a lot at Sam's because they have cashback and good games. The Fiestas don't have cashback and have slowly eroded their games (although I still play there a little) and I'm not surprised you are looking for a different venue.

I may be able to answer some more specific questions.

Thank you shadowman for your feedback.  The reason I asked for Vegans (do I have that right?) to respond to this question is because I find the residents to be more informed when it comes to what the best casinos to play in are.  When I say "Best Casino" I am just looking for a general response.  Most experienced VP players seemed to be in tune to what other experienced players are looking for.  If you say you play a lot at Sams Town that is good enough for me.  I played there in the early 90's when I started playing video poker. I then switched over to the "Royal Flush Capital of the World" in the mid 90's because it seemd like it was the place to be.  Now the place has gone flat.  The games are different and the place has been dead the last few times I have been there.  In Vegas that is a bad sign.  Furthermore, I have never had a hard time getting my room comped but was told that I was over comped for my play for this visit.  I know I only play quarters but I do play many hours each visit.  I do not expect to pay for rooms.

I will check out Sams Town again during my next visit.
Thanks again...
