Well, the Horseshoe sucks for VP but the Sheraton is next door and is really good. The VP is upstairs. Sam's Town, Hollywood both have a little. Not great. I've played them all except the Grand and still keep going back to the Sheraton because overall it's the best IMHO. Tunica is NOT Vegas but I enjoy it anyway. Of course it's all we have!   they do get a lot of locals (Memphis) there that come down for the day.

Sheraton's buffet is pretty good. Hollywood's was not so hot for my taste. If you like BBQ then Sam's Town has a big buffet BBQ. Whatever you do..DON'T eat at the Isle of Capri buffet. Okra is the most "southern" of food. I'll eat it fried, sauteed, slimey, raw, pickled, and boiled. I couldn't even eat theirs' it was so bad. Even the locals warned us about it!!

Sam's does have a couple of 50 hand VP machines upstairs. I won $250 on the third hand I put in it. Also lost the last trip.    You can play it at nickels. Fitz has a "few" machines also. The Sheraton is always the best.
I've looked around the Gold Nugget and there are suppose to be some good VP. Never did find them. If you do let me know! Have fun and lots of luck!

I gotta chime in on this one. I go to Tunica all the time to play VP and I know them all pretty well. I don't like the Horseshoe because the isles in the casino were to narrow. While I was playing people kept bumping into me no matter where I was. I have heard good things about Sheraton if you like to play low denomination multi-play video poker. I prefer single line higher denomination video poker. I've never done any good at the Sheraton and each time I went there the music was so loud I couldn't even hear myself think. I left with a headache everytime. Sam's Town has the reputation of being the place to play table games and $5 slots. I don't think much of the Hollywood because I went there several times and never hit anything above $600 and really never saw anyone else do anything better. I prefer The Grand for VP because the machine are at the back of the casino and its not as noisy and I can pretty much relax and play without so many distractions. Regardless of where you go I hope you have a good time and good luck.

Scroll to bottom of this page and click NEXT. Scroll down to TUNICA. I asked for info re Tunica on 9-20 and received some interesting replies from spxchrome and 54merk who supplied the web site www.tunicams.com.  Harrah's supplied great air transportation and Terrace (similar to Veranda) had super accommodations with free shuttle to Grand every few minutes. Buffets at Grand were memorable! Too bad neither of us had any lasting good luck to report. I would like to go again and include return to Horseshoe to try my luck with VP.  In three days we missed a few casinos. Free shuttle bus between Harrah owned casinos or $2 shuttle between other casinos. Ballys at Tunica is NOT a Harrah's casino. Other than three casinos (Harrah's Horseshoe and Sheraton  and a MGM casino) adjacent to each other, the rest are miles apart and not convenient for walking between them. The Harrah's shuttle runs 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM. Have fun! We're off to Paris in Vegas for New Years.

I agree, The Sheriton is better than the Horseshoe. You need to try Bally's also. I have had very good luck at Bally. I go to Tunica, from Nashville about 2 times a month.
PS Try the nickel video poker machine by the restroom I hit a Royal last week that paid $875.00
Good Luck

I always like playing VP at Sheraton.  For me Resorts used to be the best but they removed some machines.  I am a lower demonimation player and I hated to see them change the pay table on the nickel and dime machines.  I know he's not looked at in a positive regard on here, but I use Fa La La La La.... La la la la's RTT strategy....BP 200 credits  1c 5c 25c.  At home I am undefeated as of late with this strategy (10-0).  I keep my profit goals set low and my mini-session goal at 25c.  I  know, not much but it's better than losing one's money.

There is nothing wrong with using a progressive strategy. As I stated many times it will not hurt you if you understand it. However, it also does not help you over the long run. You'll see more session wins as you've already noticed, but when you lose it will be much more than your small goals and eventually wipe them out.

For many people this is acceptable. More winning sessions at the cost of a few bad losses may be exactly what you want out of your gambling.

The problem most of us have with Rob is that he claims you will win over the long haul playing on negative payback machines. While a few players might win, the vast majority will lose. No different than not using a progression.
