Casino Windsor

Post by Ohio Bob »

Anyone have any experience with Casino Windsor?
I'm 100 points short on my Harrah's card and need to make a trip by years ends! Casino Windsor is the closest to me.

Jeez! A trip to Canada in December!!

I was in LV last week and wish I had checked my total before I left!!

Casino Windsor was my favorite haunt when I lived in the area. It has been 4 years since my last visit. From my Detroit friend, I understand the Casino has been totally revamped and VP selection downgraded. One other thing your facing now is that American currency no longer holds a premium in Canada. Having said that:
The Casino , restaurants, rooms, bars , etc. are top notch.
Enjoy your trip to the Land of Loonies and Toonies. (Those are $1 & $2 Coins for those of you that haven't been to Canada.)

Hello Ohio Bob from a fellow Buckeye.  I have never been to Casino Windsor but will be going to Vegas soon.  Looks like it will only be in the mid-50's, so probably not much warmer than Windsor.  Just kidding of course.  Good luck!!

Hey Chris
Temps for us last week in LV were mid 60's... T shirt weather but saw a lot of people with heavy coats and gloves LOL ..wusses!
I can take some cold weather for my trip up to Windsor but snow/ice might screw things up!

Looks like I lose 4% right off the top in exchange!
Like I said ..if it wasn't for needing the points I wouldn't be headed that way right now! Probably play a lot of slots to get my points in faster ..then look for what I can find in VP..from what I see the best game is 1/2/5/20 $ Pick a pair..

If you are Bankrolled for it, Windsor always had the loosests $5 Slots of the four Casinos in the area. Typically set at 95% or better. When I was going there  cashback was great. it was nothing to get $300-$400 a night (Two Playing). It wasn't , at that time, Bounceback . Although since Harrahs is more promonent now, all bets are off.
As for VP they were the only ones to have full pay Joker Kings or Better. At that time had it in .25 Triple Play tied to a progressive on each line. There $2 Dueces were full pay also. They were in the High Limit area.
If you run across slot supervisors named Gordon or Melanie tell them greetings from North carolina.( That and a Loonie will get you a cup of coffee)

let me update those interested..Made the trip to Windsor on Monday 12/17 for an overnite stay. Very nice casino, very nice people and our room was great with a nice view of the Detroit river and the Detroit skyline. My first non smoking casino and that was great! The currency exchange was easy but  a bit of a hassle..and those 1 and 2$ coins just seemed to accumulate in my pocket. Very few people playing so lots of empty machines to choose from. Since the purpose of the trip was to earn points to  get to the next level on my players card, my wife and I concentrated on slots at first. I got the feeling that they were a bit tight..no scientific data just seemed that way. After we had the points we needed I went looking for VP. This is the only casino I've been in all year (2 trips to LV and several to river boats in IN) that I haven't had a list of good games from vpFree with something in  99% and up payback. I played DB at 9/6 and DDB at 9/5..both are about 97% I think. Did not find any 50/100 play at all and very few multi line games with nothing under 5 cents..and only 4 machines in the nickel range!
I did seem some  machines different than the usual uprights and slant tops.  Up right w/very large screen ..20" ?.. they had multi games (4) ..pickem, db, duesces, and a game that paid more for selected quads. I didn't play any on then the pay tables stunk!

All in all a bad  gambling trip! We quit early monday and went to the room to watch tv! I didn't play any Tuesday before heading home and for me that is unusual..I can usually get in a couple hours while the wife gets ready! Had many a come back morning! Not so this time!  Had only 1 set of quads in all the play I did. I know the casino has nothing to do with that, but bad luck and poor pay tables do terrible things to the bank roll!  Looks like some overtime at work and a few brown bag lunches to rebuild!
