not sure how you guys do it, playing 1/2 dollar bankroll goes super duper fast compared to what im used to but man you hit that good luck trip all is well
does everyone just dive right into 1$ dollar play? or grind it up slowly?

Why transition at all?

Yes, you would need 4 times the bankroll for your play length to be comparable on a limited budget.

I play $1 on a very limited basis for my "pot shots" at the end of a trip. I would never work my way up to playing that amount all the time. Especially on negative machines.

Quarters is just fine with me. You can win a thousand bucks and you don't have the same tax concerns that come with dollar play.

I usually start at .50c. and if the cards come and i get up $500-$1000 i pull out of my card and go to .25c on my wifes card for duration of the trip.
The key word in above sentence being USUALLY.
On occasion i go from $1-$5 and have hit Royals to turn a good trip into a great trip.
The key word in that sentence being OCCASION.
If the cards do not come it can be a slippery slope to disaster.
I have good machines to play, and 99.9% accuracy,however, as you can see, discipline is still a work in progress.

A fixed transitioning strategy isn't worth the trouble. I tried it for years. You will get lucky once in a while, but you end up feed your winnings back into the machine. I agree with Eduardo. If you are going to vary your bet, do it at the end of the day. It's easier to walk out a winner.

i got that hand by 8th hand right as soon as i sat down, 2 card held bam may as well be a royal on 1.25 machine cleared 950 of it easy and decided to cash out

what would be easier if one has a goal such as to see a 1,000$ pay out?
to play with 1,000 over 1.25 a turn
or to play 5$ a turn with a 1,000 in hopes of seeing 4 ducks?
one is 97% the other is 98.91
my gut says 5$ a turn would be a better choice but my gut is not a computer or a math wiz

The easiest way to see a $1,000 payout would be to bet $1,000 on roulette or blackjack.

In video poker, the higher your bet the easier it will be to get a $1,000 payout, since you need a lower win type which will be much more common than a royal.

Of course, your bankroll will swing much more wildly in the process and if it's not a big enough bankroll for the denom, you could run out before hitting the thousand or the thousand wont be enough to get you back to even unless you hit it early.

Pick a denomination you can play comfortably all day. Save a little money for a bigger pot shot at the end of the day. Set a low cash out limit and walk with your winnings. Try it and see.
