Winning machines

Post by clwn2 »

All right gang, I have got another good one.  I lost my donkey today and need a pick me up.  Tell me some good stories about your best machines.  I am not looking for your biggest single jackpot.  I am looking for a commentary about your best machines.

For example, when I first started playing DDB did not exist.  They were all old coin droppers.  Now, am I imagining this or did the old ones give it up for a longer period?  I had experiences with the older machines where I would get 10-15 4aoks if I hit a real good one.  I have not had the same experience with the newer machines TITO which seem to play differently. Of course, it may just be me.

A story about one of my best all time machines was a flatop quarter machine at Fiesta Henderson 4 years ago.  This one was a coin dropper. Anyway, I hit everything under the sun including two straight flushes (which is rare) and a club Royal.  In additon to that beauty, I got atleast 10 4oak which included 2,3,4 and A's.  The only thing I did not get was AwK .  A few of the 4oak were dealt as well.   Wow, what an experience.  It did not hurt that I was on my first trip to Vegas with my wife(before we were married).  That one machine payed for our whole trip which included jet ski rentals on Lake Mead.

In that past I have had a few memorable machines.  I have had 4AwK on the same machine two times during the same session twice.  Both of these were at Pauma Casino in San Diego.  Those were nice.  But, I have never had the Royal and the 4AwK on the same machine during the same session.  Nor have I had two royals on the same machine.  However, I have had two royals on the same day with nickels.  I am patiently waiting for that to happen with quarters or above.  The highest hand I have gotten above quarters is 4AwK on 50 cents.

There you have it.  I estimate that I have about average luck for the amount I play.  I look forward to any stories that you have and would like to share.

I know that some of you play much more than I.  I am interested in just how much these machine are capable of.  I am sure that I do not have that type of of luck...yet.

I once had a ddb quarter machine that gave me 4 sets of 4 aces (2 with the kicker) in less than  20 minutes! I kept looking around like I was doing something illegal LOL

My favorite machine was a real killer at first.  But then it came back and was a
big help in the sequels.

I play almost exclusively on TITO machines.  I had a session last November on a single line one where I hit Aces five times in three hours, plus a RF and 2's-4's a few times.  3 of those Aces came in a 30 minute time span. So don't give up on them.  In my own play I haven't noticed any difference long-term between what I hit on coin droppers and TITO.

Ive posted this before, but it's a good story. At a local Henderson casino, Barley's, I hit 4 4oak's in a row on a coin dropping machine. The machine stopped because it needed a fill. Otherwise, who knows what else may have happened. I also looked around as if I had done something wrong!---CWA---

Last June i was playing VP at Red Rock (my first time to gamble in Vegas). My wife got bored and went to the movies there next to the casino. The movie was running late and I was about outa money so I went to the entrance of the theater and sat down in the only available seat which happened to be on one of those large Wheel of Fortune things with about 20 seats located around them. After about 20 minutes I was really bored and decided to drop in $5 and see what would happen. At that point I couldn't tell how the dumb thing even worked. I just knew that you needed to hit "max play". It sucked up the whole $5 but after it quit spinning and beeping I about broke my thumb punching the "ticket out" for $250. I still don't know how or why it worked!

Last August we went to Tunica for the weekend. As we were leaving on Sunday to go home, we decided to go thru Sam's Town to see what it looked like. We had spent our time in the Sheraton as that was where most all the good VP is located. The VP is mostly upstairs at Sam's and close to the restrooms. My wife decided to visit  the head while I waited for her. I spotted a bank of VP that looked like it might have multiple hands. Sure enough it was a 50 play machine. My only weakness is I really like to play 50 to 100 hands at a time!!  Soooo, I put in a twenty (nickel setting) and on the third hand hit a 4 oak. I had forgotten to hit the "turbo" button so it was very slowly counting out the winning hands (50 of them) when my wife walked up and commented that she didn't think I was going to gamble anymore as we were headed home. I told her to shut up and sit down (well, actually a bit more tactful than that. I haven't been married for 33 years for nothing!) and watch this as she was going to like it. After awhile it quit counting out the hands and I punched out the ticket for just over $300. I just handed her the ticket and walked out. Best $20 I ever spent.
As I write this I'm begining to spot a theme here: while she's gone I seem to hit good stuff and while she's looking over my shoulder I can't hit crap.

Yes , but did you also notice that she shows up just as your collecting on the big win?
I also notice the thing in your story that has kept you alive for these 33 years, You gave her the ticket.
