Since the world is upside down right now and no place to play I been reading about not being able to make money at the casino on other boards. I can from my play show that it can be done. Even a guy like me working 40 hours a week at a regular job made a nice profit part time over the last 20 plus months.

Yes I have 99.5% games but even if I only had 98.9% or even 98.5% pay back I still can make money, not a lot but some. You have to put time and a whole lot of effort into making it work. Yes many times there are disappointments like spending 6 hours for a drawing that don't come in. Been down that road many times. The times you do get the draw makes up for them long days.

I started keeping records at the start of 2016. From Jan 2016 to May of 2018 I lost $3300. It was all Recreational Play. In Dec of 2017 I read some books and did a whole lot practicing. In Feb 2018 I gave advantage play a try. I got my name called 2 times on a promotion that month, first time made $150, second time $650. I felt I was on to something. I did not give AP another try till cash cube promo in June 18. I now play advantage 98% of the time. My wife drags me out for Rec play now and then.

Here in Mid Michigan I only have 2 casinos close by. So understanding the promos is a big deal. Making them fit my work schedule is another challenge. I miss out on many good promos because of my job.

There is also a BIG thing called LUCK in a promotion. Having the entrees is one thing getting called is another. As for the poker in itself its just a losing game. Play will get you free play and entrees and that's the key to turning a profit. If you believe in the math (I do) then there is a profit in the casino.

Here is my monthly totals since going all out advantage play.

In that above time frame total free play was $32,725. I have put many hours into my play at the casino. Per hour I am not making much in that aspect. The profit is also before taxes. The only thing that is in the profit total is cash wins from promos, any free play played off. Coin in was 1.3 million in 2019.

I did not include gas cards, rooms, concert tickets, food comps/vouchers elt. The total trips was 318 to the casino.

I assume Soaring Eagle is one of the two casinos you play at. What is the other?

Do you play mostly single line dollars (or higher)? That's a very impressive amount of coin in.

Saganing Eagles Landing in Standish, Mi is the other.

I play Dollars during promo play to rack up entrees fast but most the time it's $2.50 bets on 9/6 JOB.I can play for 8 to 10 hours no problem. I know most people can't play that much but if you want to have a shot at a nice promo you got to put the time in to get results.

You must be pretty young Wildman. 8-10 hours of .25 JOB. I couldn't do that at 68. I can do maybe 3 hrs at a time

Me too. Once I get to two and a half hours, I'm looking for a break.

On an extended casino trip, a typical day of play would be 2-3 hours in the morning, lunch break, 2-3 hours in the afternoon, longer dinner break, and, quite often, that would be it for the day.

Wildman49. I am not surprised at your results. You are obviously doing the right things. You mentioned luck. I find this interesting. Do you believe luck exists? I made a small profit over a two year period playing single coin. I was called a liar and accused of taking fake photos. Why is it that someone can claim a win by being lucky and another person claims their results are due to skill? The skilled person is congratulated, while the lucky person is criticized for saying luck was the reason for the profit.

If you go back and actually read the post, you will note that the reference to luck was in reference to promotions, not the video play itself.

How many hours over this 2 year period? Saying 2 years means nothing. I could say the same thing, but in reality, only played 20 minutes total time.
