Soaring Eagle Properties casinos will open this weekend at 10:00 am May 29th to a limited number of invited guests. On June 1st, 8:00 am, they will open to the general public. face masks will be required, and, NO SMOKING!
One casino in the UP had announced a opening on May 6th, but were told by the Gov. and AG, that anyone who was not a tribal member, would be subject to arrest or a Civil Penalty. The tribe backed down.
At least 6 Northern Michigan casinos announced an opening for May 26th. They also had a video meeting with the Gov. and AG on or about May 22nd. They then announced (at least 9 casinos, this time) a June 1st opening. I believe the Gov and AG insisted on the no smoking, in order for this to happen.

It sounds like some of the letter writers helped with the smoking bans. Thankyou Tech! And others. All I did was take their survey, which probably helped.
I've checked some of the other casinos. Kewadin looked like they would open 1st. They open June 12th. They have smoking in desidnated areas only. Sounds like they woudn't agree to the Gov's smoking ban.
Odawa Casinos open June 1st. They have a temporary smoking ban, same with Turtle Creek.
Little River says nothing about smoking, June 1st.
Fire Keepers has banned smoking. June 1st.
