Dumbocrats in Nevada and their Marxist agenda

Post by DougJ »

Never have I experienced the level of stupidity of Dumbocrats as I have in my state of Nevada (even though both spouse and I were born and raised in Chicago, the home of the "Machine.")
Here are recent examples of Nevada's blind march to socialism and the welfare state:

(1) Clark County school district is distance learning for the upcoming school year, to protect employees and students. Yet, my taxes will go to paying for the district to run school buses every day, so that students can ride the bus to school, go to the school cafeteria, and pick up free breakfast and free lunch. So, somehow the Chinese virus has boundaries and doesn't exist on school buses nor in cafeterias. Moreover, who's sanitizing the school buses and cafeteria every day? The school district employees deemed dispensable and immune from the Chinese virus?
The other fact: all summer long, every summer preceding the Chinese virus, somehow kids were fed. In fact, up until this new school year, the single parent household (*normal here) had to go PICK UP any free meals for their nine kids from a central meal distribution center in Vegas. Schools were closed.

(2) Clark County Commissioners unanimously made it illegal for landlords to refuse to rent to folks who were previously evicted from their last rental unit, and also illegal for landlords to refuse to rent to folks who have no verifiable source of income. Yeah, sure. When I buy a Fourplex, to rent out the apartments, of course, as a good Socialist, I shouldn't do it to MAKE MONEY from rent . . . I'm doing it because of my unending "compassion" for the folks who shouldn't be homeless because their U/I evaporated paying for gambling, drinking and pot. Who wants to be a landlord, when as a private person (or even a apt. developer) you are forced to rent private property to a grifter?

Thanks Dumbocrats.

The school board is doing exactly what they want and you are footing the bill. Who is the dummy here?

Wow this is a prime example of the burgeoning wealth gap, and the covid19 pandemic has magnified and shined a searchlight on what lower middle income and low income people face on so many levels.

I agree Doug, this isn't fair to you, nor is it an efficient and beneficial (to the community) way to address the problem.

Ideally, what would you like to see happen, keeping in mind the exceptional tragic reality of covid19, along with the reality that poor kids do need to eat and do need to receive minimum basic education. Just as food for thought given the points you made about socialism, things like public schools, libraries, fire departments etc. are examples of ... "Socialism". And you do know that, among modern developed countries that have open free markets, the USA is one of the lower (overall) taxed countries, right?

Sometimes you have to accept life isn't fair, and we all must put up with things just because that's the way it now is. So many cans have been kicked down the road, so much corruption and selfish greed, so much lack of personal responsibility combined with heartless cruel indifference has brought this on....people now live so long but rack up and drive up huge medical bills along the way, and when it comes to things like public schools and budgets I'm sure you'll find your teachers union and it's pension and medical coverage is one big huge blackhole.

Relax and don't let it get to you like it has others.

doug isn't one to let the truth get in the way of a good rant. He once posted how he ran into me in a casino and observed me playing video poker when I wasn't even in the state.

Ok I'm not trying to get in the middle of anythibg, I just saw Doug made actually what I thought was an understandably frustrated yet interesting post on a valid issue that is complex and has no easy solution, if any.

I've never understood liars. If you need to lie to make your point or to defend your position, it just seems to me you are wasting time that could be used more productively. If one lies about stupid little things like seeing me in a casino, why would anyone believe anything he says?
I'd prefer to deal with a thief before a liar. With the thief I can buy a lock. With Doug, how does one respond to a liar.
