Christmas in Vegas

Post by theodallas »

Hi, friends...

Am going to Vegas for Christmas....Dec. 24, 25, 26....just me.  It's kind of a sad Christmas for me...I lost my precious shih tzu in June and so many of my Christmases have involved him and traditions we set with my cousin and her family.  I just could'nt do that this Christmas, so decided to do Vegas - the one place I (hope) will make me forget about Christmas.

Have any of you been to Vegas at Christmas?  I hope it is busy to a degree.

Did I make the right decision?  Any special things to do (other than VP)?  I'm staying at Bally's...any new games, hot VP spots I should try?

Thanks and happy holidays to all!

Ships passing in the night Theo.  We arrive late Wednesday (Dec 26).  But we're staying Downtown again this trip, not on the Strip.  Never been there that close to Christmas so can't prepare you.  Sorry to hear about your dog.  We lost one this past year also.  It ain't fun!  However, we did get a cat and two skunks shortly after we lost our dog!  The cat turned out pretty good.  The skunks are still living in the habitat we provided for them under the deck of our swimming pool.  Thank God they are not very social.

Do you think it might be that you were trying to trap them?  Not social but smart.

At one time Christmas was considered the slow time of the year. I guess it still is relative to other times, but with 2 million residents in Clark county the casinos are always somewhat busy.

As far as I know you won't find any good VP at Ballys at anything under $5 and then it is only 9/6 JoB. However, you can take a shuttle to the Rio from Harrahs which is just down the street and walk to the Gold Coast or Palms for good VP. Other options:

Theo   I have and it was great therapy.  Not especially crowded but most werein a festive mood. That was one of my first trips there and I hit $4050on megabucks at Orleans.  Had a great time and so will you.  Plus, I thinkyou are at the best location to easily walk to a lot of top properties. And,don't miss Bally's Jubilee if you want to see a traditional LV show.  Those  gorgeous gals sure will show you a lot of what they got. You should be able to find 1/2 price.

i will be there 12/24-29 playing fpdw at palms an gold coast 25c games i need 891 base point to keep my diamond the least painful game is 10 play allstar 9/5 job at rio to get points plus 150 gift card. my plan is to keep diamond 1 more year and hope with merger games get better and casion hosts whom leave take player lists so i can get new letters from other casinos. i play more live poker against weaker playing tourest and less vp due to no more dollar fpdw and fewer 100%+ in  general

theodallas: As most of us know, Vegas is a great place to escape stuff! Coco was 17 and Zeke, 12, and will be missed forever! Remember the good times! Seems we hit Vegas every Dec. Earlier in Dec. during rodeo week is fun, too! Wear denim then. Be sure to check out decor at Bellagio Conservatory! Pond in front of Trop froze over and it snows on Mt Charleston. Take something warm to wear just in case it really cools off in the evening. Best!

If you're going downtown,  There are two machines at the Fremont near the little bar for cocktail waitresses.  They are .25.or .50 the best game on them is Double Deuces Bonus.  Any 4 deuces pays 2000 coins w/o/a/kicker.

beware of anyone going through a casino wearing a black hooded mask, carrying an assault weapon,as there security is so weak in casinos!
