Wilson, took your advice last week, went to Agua C straight to the bar(north) hit 4 Aces on VP. Most of the bar was closed for some const. work
so only one side was open.
Actually I do better at Soboba which for me is closer.

Try going to Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln CA..it's a Las Vegas type casino and they have tons of video poker machines! I have won many many times there.. they allow smoking but unless it's an extremely busy night the smoke doesn't bother me at all. They do have a non-smoking area too.. the restaurants are excellent and every bit as good as Reno imo

Thanks, Wilsonwilson, I'll give the bar-tops a try next time. Someone said the bar at Pala is also a good choice.

Can't speak for all the casinos in the Tucson, AZ area, but stay away from the "new" Desert Diamond Nogales Highway for VP -- I put in $40 on Double Double Bonus (.25) and I think maybe I hit twice. I guess they have to find a way to pay for this new casino.....

Sorry to burst your bubble but $40(unless you left out a zero or two) is not much play for any quarter game especially DDB. DDB has a high variance which means that most of the time you will probably end up with nothing but when you win your wins are big due to the 4oak payouts. I have been playing this game since it came out in the 90's. It will take you down if you are not hitting good hands. A good example of this is my experience last night. The wife and I were playing at an Indian casino as well and we dropped $140 on DDB nickels. The schedules were not that good which is usually the case with nickels but you get my drift. I hit one four of a kind in 4 hours play. !@#$% The wife did better with 4 4oaks and a straight flush.
Sometimes misery loves company, hope this info helps. I usually play at the quarter level and somtimes higher. Needless to say I am used to much bigger losses. That being said, I still hate to lose money. Being a video poker player I am used to it but that does not mean I have to like it.

In another topic I posted a note unveiling an experience at a casino in Oklahoma. I player for several hours at the nickel level on an 8/5 DDB single line machine. I went through $100 and hit only one quad. Fortunately, it was a low set with a kicker for 800 or I'd not have lasted as long as I did.I won $60 on this same bank of machines a week or two before. The pay tables suck else I'd have been playing for quarters. But, that's exactly why I play those machines for nickels only.BTW, those casinos in Oklahoma are 1 hour away from me. The next closest is around 3-1/2 hours away. When Kansas Casinos open up there will be one in either Wellington or Mulvane (30mi and 15mi south of Wichita). The opening of those will very likely see me abandon all trips to the Oklahoma Casinos! I am really hoping that they will not try to skin the patrons at the new casinos.

Condidering the way our ancestors treated the Indians I guess they think it's only fair to try and scalp us at their casinos! We screwed them and now they try to screw us. Kind of ironic I guess.

JDanno,While all casinos in Oklahoma and currently in Kansas, are ran by Native American Tribes, the ones I refer to in Kansas will be ran by the State. I do not know what kind of policy will ensue concerning the paytables nor do I know what kind of rules they will regulate concerning the table games. I am forced into optimism concerning the outcome though! If done properly, the new casinos in Kansas (I think there will be 4 of them) have a chance to really create a tourism market that should bring millions of dollars into the counties in which the casinos are built! If done poorly, it will be the joke that I think the Oklahoma casinos have become and a total failure for the State.Missouri is somewhere in between the farce that the casinos are in Oklahoma and the wide open gambling we have in Las Vegas. In Missouri, there is a $500 loss limit every 2 hours that is State regulated. Other than that, the Missouri Casinos are pretty much wide open except that they have no Sports Books.Oklahoma has table Blackjack but they charge $.50 per hand ante to play the hand and that ante increases with each multiple of $100 wagered. My hope is that there are no such restrictions placed on the State run Kansas Casinos.
