Stayed there a year ago. Rooms were very nice, but every place to eat inside the hotel is expensive.  The cheapest place I found was a sandwich shop and it was about $13 for a coke and a sandwich.  And there is nothing nearby outside the hotel.  Sometimes I just want to grab a snack before bed.  When I stayed at Bally's the little casino across the street had a nice breakfast for about 4 bucks.

Regarding your comment of nothing cheap nearby at the Wynn, if you walk across the street and stroll into the fashion mall, there's an ABC grocery/convenience store.
You have to walk all the way through the mall and go to the very back on the left hand side, street level.  I purchased two 32 oz gatorades for $3.25 and picked up some peanuts for $1.50.  There's other foodstuff in there also.  Hope this helps!

The resort rooms are amazing (haven't stayed in the 5star Tower suites, but I'm sure they're great), the dinner buffet was spot on, and the Wynn makes the best margaritas on the strip.

Concerning vp play, there are 4 full pay machines by the ultra-lounge (Lure, I believe) and I won $800 with 4 Aces on a dollar machine by the players club desk.  I'm going back in May and am interested in playing any multi-strike vp there also.

P.S. You must eat at the 24hr Terrace Point Cafe.  Best pancakes I've ever had, and I'm a chef.

I live here in Lost Wages
I found the Wynn to be a bit of a snobbish place. I wear jeans,(clean,no holes) and t-shirt,(also clean,no holes)
The looks I got from the guests and employees seemed to say,"What the f*** are YOU doing here???
Thats just one man's opinion though, you may
(and I hope you do) have a wonderful time.

I am a once-a-year visitor to LV and it's funny, I feel very comfortable in high-end casinos like Mirage and Bellagio, even though I am usually wearing shorts and whatever New York team shirt I drag out from good old Jersey.  I got the same feeling that the biker got in Wynn, though.  The people were very nice, but I got the impression that I(Caddyshack reference)just didn't belong.  Borgata in AC is kind of like that, but they have enough nickel and penny machines to make you think otherwise.  Who cares what anyone thinks?  Gamble, drink, eat and have fun while its still legal.

I work in a town that is one of the wealthiest in the country. It's obvious that people of this caliber will be patronizing somebody's casino. From my observations they overwhelmingly choose Mandalay Bay and Wynn. Yes, i have met many "nice" people here, but their personalities are quite different from us average folks. Do you think that you would be welcomed with open arms if you go to a Bentley/Ferrari/Lamborghini,etc. dealer looking like an average nice joe? It's a different world that they live in.

Question about the Wynn.  We stayed there when it first opened and were amazed how few vp machines they had at the bars.  We were told that they wanted to project more of a resort atmosphere.   At the time, the only vp machines they had was next to the deli.  I didn't appreciate people in line waiting to order sandwiches making comments about my hands dealt, hands played, etc.  I enjoy playing vp at the bar, visiting with others, and having a drink. We play at Bellagio a lot, but liked the Wynn except for the vp play at the bars.  They mentioned they might add more machines at the bars.  Does anyone know if there are any other bars at the Wynn with vp machines?  I play vp so much when I stay at Bellagio, I rarely leave since I have won a lot of money there.  Anyone, please chime in and tell me if they added any more machines at the Wynn.  Thanks!

We are heading to Vegas on the 23rd of July encouraged by 3 comp nights at the Wynn. My earlier post spoke of a trip last November where we played moderately at the Wynn for one day, about 8 hours. I received the offer via snail mail and it gave me the comp. The emails I received gave us a reduced rate but not a comp. I'll try and post my experience when we return. Wish us luck

Win big so they have to invite you back hoping to get even.
I'm not sure how much coin-in you'll be doing but I suspect it will be difficult to earn any comps until the "room" is covered. It used to be a lot easier. You might want to try getting comps from a host rather than waiting until you check out. That way you won't be disappointed.
