I've been around the world 3 times, been to 7 county fairs and 4 hog killin's and ain't never had a trip worse for VP than this one was!Seriously, I haven't been able to catch cold, let alone quads this trip.  Actually, I have hit a few quads, but they are definitely few and far between. I found a machine at Sam's Town that was like the game I play at Isle of Capri in Kansas City...DB with 1000 credit Aces and 400 for Straight Flushes.  I managed to hit quad Aces on that one.  There have been several 250 credit quads but only one 800 credit hit for 4's with a deuce if I remember correctly.I had been bailing out my loses on Blackjack but this trip, BJ failed me!  I broke even at California Club after 3 hours of play.  But other than that, I should have just pushed my buy-in across the table to save time.  Even at El Cortez on the Single Deck table, I got ravished!Probably just as well.  I've been down with the flu for the past three weeks and have spent a lot of time in the room just zoned out.  For that purpose, the trip was almost a success. One thing I've determined is that I'll never get a room at the Golden Gate again.  I wanted to do it just because it is the oldest hotel/casino in Las Vegas.  But the rooms all look like they are over 100 years old!  And, they are TINY!  Barely room to walk around the queen sized bed to get to the bathroom which seems to be unheated.  Plenty of hot water if you want a bath, but you really have to jump around under the shower head to get wet and somehow, the hot water doesn't make it up to the shower head!Let's see, where have I played this trip.  All the casinos on Fremont really...Plaza, Main Street Station, California Club, Las Vegas Club, Golden Gate, 4-Queens, and El Cortez (Dancer's Machines are not installed as far as I could determine.  I guess they could have been around somewhere and I missed them.)  Didn't bother with Fitzgerald's, Binions or Golden Nugget.  I did grab a Fried Twinkie at Mermaids though!  That's definitely a winner.  Oh, I also found a $20 bill laying out on Fremont yesterday morning.  I thought sure that was an indication that my luck had changed!  The first VP machine I plugged it into ate it though.Off Fremont, we went to Texas Station, Jerry's Nugget, Arizona Charlie's on Decatur, Sam's Town and Silverton.Oh, Plaza now had live entertainment again!  Last night it was a female group complete with a pole dancer (NOT BAD and FREE!)  Las Vegas Club has karaoke and man, were the "singers" BAD!I think that tonight, I'll brave the drunken crowd on Fremont and see what the entertainment is like.  Might have to play a little VP and BJ but to tell the truth, I'm pretty much rung out and really am looking forward to getting home and back to getting my tail whooped up on at QQ's!

I'm sorry to hear that the VP & BJ didn't come through for you this trip.

This trip you've written about found money, bad rooms, cheek tattoos, and pole dancers.  But I want to hear more about the Twinkie! (I must be getting old)

Have a safe and uneventful trip home, and play here where you're "always a winner".

But I want to hear more about the Twinkie! (I must be getting old)  "The Twinkie"  What can I say about the Twinkie?  About the messiest sweetest sinful concoction that mankind has invented!  Only in Vegas!I limit myself to only ONE per trip!  There's enough sugar in it to provide a year's ration!

Mike, so sorry to hear about your run of bad luck.  Better luck next time.  With all the casinos you hit it doesn't seem possible that you were able to make much headway with the flu as far as getting plenty of rest.  I hope you feel better soon.  Anyway you play in all of my favorite casinos and then some.  Best of luck in the new year.

MikeA, I hope your flight home went better than your gambling. Time to start saving up for that next trip. You KNOW it's gotta even out next time.

Its too bad that you couldn't break even playing VP or BJ. DF twinkies are sinful aren't they? I'm sure some cardiologist's are thanking the inventors for the job security. No luck @ Sams or Az. Charlies? Wow, thats a bad outing! ! Hopefully, you'll clean up next trip. I'm going Jan. or Feb. budget withstanding.

Photos from the tripDon't feel too badly about my trip guys.  I'm just spoiled with umpteen trips to Vegas where I was able to offset any loses incurred on one game with wins at the other (VP vs BJ).  This time, neither came through for me but that's okay.  There have been trips recently where I've won at both!  I've been sort of expecting a trip like that for a couple of years now and it just finally hit.  Really, it's no big deal.  Chump change, but the final tally die come up in the red and I'm not used to that.I think there are only three major properties in Vegas we haven't visited:  GVR, South Coast and Red Rocks.  I believe we've hit the rest and have played them if anything looked good.  We hadn't been to Arizona Charlie's on Decatur until this trip.Pickin's have gotten worse as far as BJ and VP goes on Fremont so while we may continue to stay there, I'm pretty sure that our next run out there will see us playing more and more in the outlying casinos like Silverton, Texas Station and Arizona Charlie's.  We didn't hit Fiesta Henderson this time and it is one of my favorites.

Mike, did you get a chance to make it out to the Cannery or Rampart?

Mike, did you get a chance to make it out to the Cannery or Rampart? No.  Didn't make it to either of those.  We went to Cannery three or four trips ago.  We must have gone on the wrong night.  Man was it crowded!  Never been to Rampart.  Is it a "must go" place? It was about the same story at Boulder Station.  People, elbow to elbow and we found that place hard to get around in (circular setup and we were constantly getting "turned around").  Savvy crowd there though.  There were people lined up at Boulder Station behind the Full Pay VP machines and the short pay machines were pretty much vacant.  I hadn't seen that anywhere before!

This just points out how stupid a Casino can be. There the people are with money in there pocket, waiting to play, when the other machines are earning them zero, zip. Empty machine= $0.00
